Today we’d like to introduce you to Kymberli Jenkins.
Kymberli, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started creating content around the time of the pandemic, I made new connections, and began attending events with friends and fellow budtenders. Through these connections and networking opportunities, I started my first cannabis industry job around 2022. I fell in love with industry, the community, opportunities, and above all else the people!
There’s so many stories when it comes to cannabis and it really does help you connect, and understand those you probably never pictured even being next to. This industry has helped me meet those that really make an impact on driving and pushing education towards the main public, creating humorous content that will either give information about new product, or just shed more light on who I am as a person, or even as a comedic figure. It helped motivate and push me to start my own events as Bloom & Blaze, where we hope to become a haven for creatives and consumers to enjoy product, meet and greet with top influencers, and also experience amazing live music, get a tattoo, eat great, and relax. I like to call myself a bridge for the everyday consumer directly to brands and owners.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s definitely been a challenging road for sure haha. I’ve personally struggled with gaining new positions in the industry since my first position, as well as dealing with a content saturated audience. Mostly, the most challenging thing for me currently is dealing with Instagram’s algorithm and knowing how to maneuver the different changes. Also, the cannabis industry is beginning to experience a shift as a whole, so that leaves me with the chance to try out new and different content. Trying to remain relatable, humorous, and open to different collaborations while holding onto my own values is the main thing for me currently.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So I am a model, brand marketer, content creator, creative director, event owner, and podcaster. I know, that’s a lot hahaha. I specialize in content, video editing, and social media.
I’m mostly known for my comedic videos I’ve made on my own, as well as the collaborations I’ve made with my amazing friend Tyler Therapy as well.
I’m mostly proud of my ability to try new things and still show up. I do have some mental health challenges that can make social life difficult for me at times, however, continuing to push through and stay consistent is something I’m really quite proud of at the moment.
What sets me apart from others? I’d have to say my ability to just speak what I’m thinking. I’ve noticed a lot of the times, my personal thoughts were also shared by many so I’m happy to say what others can’t or won’t say.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, wow I was definitely that super happy kid always ready to play outside. I also took great care of others and their emotions. My personality was a kind and caring one, but I also didn’t take anyone’s shit, pardon my language.
I was carefree, happy, a risk taker, fearless, and a leader. I looked out for everyone and did my best to be there for as many or whoever I could, only because I knew what it felt like to not have certain people show up for you.
