Meet Kristine Augustyn of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Augustyn.

Hi Kristine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Los Angeles to figure out what I wanted my life to be. I did not come here for a specific reason and I didn’t know if I would stay but 30 plus years later – I’m still here. I worked in Television Production for the majority of my life here. Currently I work for The Conscious Life Expo.

I started creating art about 20 years ago and I’ve never looked back. Finding my way to art was the best thing that ever happened to me – and I think everyone should have the chance to create. I’m an emotional artist and I find I learn so much about myself after every painting or creation. Once a piece is finished I look back and realize – oh that’s how I was feeling. During the pandemic I also started creating music, something I had never done before and that was amazing – it became an obsession – at least for a time and I created a whole album. My life is pretty good – I love to travel and I get to go to so many of the places I’ve always dreamed of. I did not go the traditional marriage/family route for various reasons but I have wonderful people around me and I get to do what I want. I try to be helpful and kind.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For many years I have been freelance in my career – that has caused many challenges but also time for reflection during the down times. I wouldn’t say life has been easy, I am on my own out here far away from my family, however I wouldn’t change a thing. I think my ups and downs are part of what makes me who I am, the same for all of us, so I try not to look at obstacles as bad and more like lessons and challenges to find my way. I also know I create a lot of my problems in my own head, I try to remember that!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently work with The Conscious Life Expo which is a yearly live event in Los Angeles every February that brings together amazing speakers, thought leaders and imaginative exhibitors from around the world.
