Meet Kris Chaney of REEL ProduCtions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris Chaney.

Hi Kris, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story. 
Most people know me as the host of two podcasts, REEL Film Reviewed and Kris of All Trades. REEL Film Reviewed is a film and TV show review podcast on which I provide spoiler free reviews and then a post viewing discussion where I share my insights as a filmmaker and film lover, sometimes featuring guests. Kris of All Trades allows me to expand on other topics outside of the film industry that I am also passionate about such as health and fitness and social issues. 

I am mainly an entrepreneur. I’m currently working on my MBA and MS in Leadership and have been pursuing a number of business opportunities, which include film production and real estate. I’m also heavily involved in fitness and am a certified personal trainer and online coach. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I would say that is has been a smooth roller coaster. I really believe and am living proof that life has no limitations other than the ones we make. If we don’t give in to the challenges that we face whenever we are attempting something new, there is literally no limit to what we can accomplish. Nipsey Hustle always said to “never stop,” and that is the mentality I’ve tried to have with everything in my life. 

Some struggles I can talk about are how there were times I had trouble believing in myself or just not having the motivation to do certain things like writing scripts. I knew I had great ideas that just needed to be written out, and while I was sleeping on writing those ideas, I would see those same ideas being made. So, that ignited my motivation for sure.

I started REEL ProduCtions, LLC, and Chane Gang Training in 2019 and 2020. I have since decided to umbrella my businesses, to align them better with my vision for the future. So, eventually, I will have: 

– REEL Entertainment, LLC 

– Chaney Health Medical Group 

– The REEL Estate Company 

REEL Entertainment will include the businesses that focus on entertainment, the production company, movie theatres, restaurants, and food trucks. Chaney Health Medical Group will include Change Gang Training, fitness gyms, and certain foundations focused on medical research. The REEL Estate Company will include commercial and residential real estate and property management. This is mainly so I can own the land my businesses sit on. 

What sets me apart from others is my drive and my passion for these businesses and how committed I am to making them the best the world has ever seen. It sounds like a big initiative and quite expensive, but honestly, I can convince anyone to invest in businesses like this because they will invest in me and my commitment to excellence. 

We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that many who don’t know me well, may not know, is that I was once going to be a chiropractor. The first degree I received was a BS in biomedical sciences and radiology, and I wanted to leverage that knowledge to become a DACBR. Essentially, they are chiropractors who are also radiologists. 

I learned that I cared deeply about chiropractic, but I wanted to focus more on running the business than adjusting patients. I had a great mentor who taught me that one should do what they are more passionate about especially when one of them is being a doctor. I would never want to give less than 100% to my patients, so I chose to open and run a business which offers chiropractic instead.
