Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Jackson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started personal training in 2006 in a small town in Ohio called Springfield. At the time, I didn’t fully realize it, but that’s where I began developing my foundation…not just in fitness, but in understanding people, discipline, and consistency.
In 2007, I took a leap of faith and moved to New York City to grow my business. That decision changed everything. Working with a diverse range of clients in such a fast-paced environment pushed me to elevate my skills and approach.
Through the relationships I built with my clients, I was introduced to musicians and eventually hired to train and maintain their fitness while they were on world tours. That opportunity allowed me to travel to over 20 countries, experience different cultures, and adapt my training methods to meet the demands of life on the road. Those same relationships ultimately led me to Los Angeles, where I’ve now been based for the past 14 years, continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of people transform their lives. But for me, it’s always been about more than just physical results. My focus is on shifting mindsets….helping clients change the way they think about health, fitness, and what they’re truly capable of.
My goal is to move people beyond temporary goals or quick fixes and guide them toward a complete lifestyle change.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like any business..especially one that’s built around people, there have been plenty of challenges along the way.
Early on, one of the biggest adjustments was learning how to deal with inconsistency. Clients travel, schedules change, people cancel last minute… and when your business depends on your time, that can directly impact your income and momentum. I had to learn quickly how to stay adaptable and not take those things personally, while also creating systems that kept clients accountable.
There were also bigger, uncontrollable challenges. Living and working in Los Angeles, we’ve dealt with things like the Palisades fires, which disrupted routines, displaced clients, and put everything into perspective. Moments like that remind you that health and fitness matter..but life can shift overnight, and you have to be able to pivot.
Another challenge was the transition periods in my career, moving from a small town to New York City, then eventually to Los Angeles. Each move forced me to rebuild, reestablish connections, and prove myself all over again. That’s not easy, but it taught me resilience and confidence in my ability to create opportunities anywhere.
Overall, the struggles have really shaped how I approach my business today. They’ve taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of building real relationships with my clients. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about workouts, it’s about showing up for people consistently, even when things aren’t perfect.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is built around more than just training people physically…it’s about helping individuals completely transform the way they approach health, fitness, and their everyday lifestyle.
I specialize in working with clients who want real, sustainable results. That includes fat loss, strength building, and overall performance, but what I’m really known for is helping people break out of the all-or-nothing mindset. A lot of people come in focused on quick fixes or short-term goals, and I guide them toward creating habits and routines they can actually maintain long term.
What sets me apart is my ability to meet people where they are and adapt. Whether I’m training someone in a gym, in their home, or even on the road, I’ve learned how to create structure and consistency in any environment. My experience traveling internationally with clients and working with people from all walks of life has shaped that approach. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method..everything is tailored to the individual.
Another big part of my brand is accountability and connection. My clients know I’m not just there to count reps..I’m there to support them, challenge them, and help them grow mentally as well as physically. That relationship is what drives long-term success.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the impact. I’ve been able to help hundreds of people not only change their bodies, but build confidence, discipline, and a healthier mindset. Seeing someone go from inconsistency and doubt to confidence and control..that’s what really matters to me.
What I want people to know about my business is that this isn’t about temporary results. It’s about creating a lifestyle. My goal is for every client I work with to eventually not need me..to have the tools, knowledge, and discipline to sustain their results on their own.
At the end of the day, I’m not just building better bodies…I’m helping people build better habits, stronger mindsets, and a higher standard for themselves.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My biggest advice is to focus on people first. This is a relationship business…if you can connect with clients and genuinely care, everything else will follow.
Be patient and stay consistent. Success in this field doesn’t happen overnight, but showing up every day and doing the small things right goes a long way.
I’d also say learn to handle setbacks early. Clients will cancel, motivation will fluctuate…that’s part of the process, not a sign you’re failing.
And finally, treat it like a business from day one. Respect your time, build structure, and don’t try to be like everyone else..find what makes you different and lean into that.
