Meet Kendra Jean Osborne of Defined LA and TittyGang

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendra Jean Osborne.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born in New York in 1994 and was raised in a small town called Brookfield, CT that has an approximate population of 15,000. I always felt inspired to leave that tiny town, but never knew the true sacrifice I would have to make until my parents moved my family to Las Vegas to focus on a few of their properties that were in development in Cabo San Lucas at the time. Vegas happened to be central, real estate market was booming, and it was far enough away from LA to keep my family grounded.

In 2009, when the market crashed my family lost absolutely everything and were forced to start over completely. Watching my mother and father who worked their entire lives to build a fortune only to have it disappear in a matter of a year was not only eye-opening but was a blessing in disguise.

I quickly learned how to hold my own, how to work for the things I want to achieve rather than having things handed to me, and eventually I moved to LA after graduating from High School in 2012 and began to study Theatre Arts at AMDA (The American Musical and Dramatic Academy). I quickly withdrew from the program after feeling unfulfilled in my studies, and for a few years, I decided to focus solely on recording music and just enjoying my time in LA.

Finally, in 2015-2016 I took my first Yoga Teacher Training after experiencing a deep depression and focused more on achieving mental and physical health rather than monetary successes.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall the experience is one I wouldn’t trade for the world, however, the road was not for the meak of heart. I experienced a lot of heartbreak and failures along the way. After withdrawing from AMDA, I was very lost and did not know what I truly wanted from LA. I looked to fill the void in toxic relationships both platonic and romantic.

I found I could easily mask my depression with marijuana and long nights out at the club, and for a while, I was completely satisfied by doing absolutely nothing, but I find that without these experiences I could not be as successful as I am today. I had to hit a low to finally realize I was turning my life into Mt. Everest and it didn’t need to be that hard.

Getting to know yourself is one thing, but I was constantly repeating the same behaviors that kept me depressed and confused and finally when I hit rock bottom I realized it wasn’t the success or the popularity that I needed, it was love and good health and genuine friendship that truly fulfilled the void I had in my life.

Now I am currently a mom of a chubby little 9-month-old yoga baby and engaged to be married with a fitness career under my belt and currently in the process of recording an EP and launching a clothing line! So contrary to popular belief fairy tales do come true, they just take a bit of dirty work to get there!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Defined LA and TittyGang – what should we know?
I currently run two companies Defined LA and TittyGang.

Defined LA personalizes your fitness experience to fit your daily routine. It focuses on building physical strength and mental stamina for athletes and entrepreneurs. It is DEFINED by who you are and what you want to accomplish. I aid in the creation of a practice that supports your wellness, your work life, and your goals. It’s like having a life coach and personal trainer all in one. Defined LA is not just a yoga practice, it’s accountability where you need it the most. Eventually, I want to open a Defined LA workspace, but until then I’m available for booking at any location including my regularly scheduled classes at Hot8Yoga in a Beverly Hills and Koreatown.

TittyGang was created around the same time for a similar purpose. It is a clothing line that caters to educating young men and woman about Breast Cancer and other serious health issues. Young people are so oblivious to their personal health. We tend to overlook serious issues either due to lack of affordable health care or proper education. When I was 22, I had a cancer scare that completely changed the way I approached my health. I never thought I would have to get a screening for breast cancer at such a young age. Even though what was thought to be a breast tumor turned out to be a swollen lymph node it made me realize a lot of my health issues were aggravated by stress and anxiety and depression.

It wasn’t enough to just teach yoga and help people heal, I wanted to truly give back to young people in a way that educates and in turn might prevent other men and women from having to experience what I went through for years. TittyGang is currently in the process of getting a facelift but will be launching its first campaign in October. 25% of all proceeds will be donated to support homeopathic cures for Breast Cancer in men and women. Each quarter TittyGang will focus on anew cause and will host events/pop-ups around the Socal Area to provide resources to those who want to learn more about Autoimmune disease, chronic pain, mental health and ways to be more health conscious.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Trusting my intuition and being genuine is so important to my successes. I’ve learned that pleasing others is a complete waste of time. Being honest with others about where your boundaries lie makes for creating healthier more long-lasting relationships. Having a network of like-minded individuals is really important, and you cannot build that by lacking in intuition and character. You need to DEFINE who you are, what you want, and listen to your inner self constantly.

And lastly, be loving. I find that love is so much easier than hate. You can still give love and be firm in your beliefs whether it be in God, in yourself, in your education. It doesn’t matter what you believe; love should always come first and when you give love your cup will overfloweth with love in return.

When we feel loved we are more connected and more successful in manifesting the desires of our inner intuitive self.
