Hi Kate, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, I’m Kate, the founder and creative director of Kate Flowers LA. Décor and floral design are not just my profession but my true passion! I was born in a Siberian city named Novosibirsk in the middle of Russia. My journey in floral design has been incredibly diverse and enriching. Spending nearly five years (2011-2016) working in the picturesque landscapes of tropical Thailand expanded my professional horizons and infused elements of Asian culture into my design philosophy at Kate Flowers LA. When we moved to LA in 2016, I was freelancing for different famous companies in LA and OC. I’m proud to have been a part of the core florist’s team at prestigious events like the Oscar and Golden Globe Awards, as well as being entrusted with decorating Disneyland restaurants and the main lobby of the Grand California Hotel. I started Kate Flowers LA in 2017 and in 2021, we are proud to be a company with a unique style and vision. Each customer’s project is a unique and treasured opportunity for me to craft the best floral design for my clients. I begin each new project with a blank sheet, sketching conceptual designs that lead to delightful and novel design decisions.

With a financial degree and background in finance, I can meticulously project cost and budget estimates, ensuring transparency and efficiency throughout the process.

My ultimate goal is to ensure the satisfaction of Kate Flowers LA customers at every step, from the very first meeting to the successful delivery of the project. Your happiness is what drives me to excel and create unforgettable floral experiences.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is an amazing road all the way! I really love what I do. I had struggles with COVID time because it was prohibited by law to do any events, but I went through it and am very grateful for that experience!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in full-service floral arrangements for weddings and events, starting from the initial client meeting. By understanding their preferences in style, color palette, and chosen venue, we create a personalized vision. The key to my role is aligning with the client’s needs, ensuring their vision comes to life. The most rewarding moments are when clients express that their special day exceeded expectations.

Our floristry covers various designs and styles, with a particular fondness for combining white and green. Drawing from my experience in Thailand, I blend tropical and European flowers and leaves, creating a unique and beautiful fusion. This distinctive style, neither purely tropical nor entirely European, is something we take pride in.

As a full-service florist, we handle design, production, delivery, setup, and teardown and offer rental options. Our goal is to make clients feel comfortable and confident in every aspect of the floral arrangements for their special occasions.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, our plan is to expand the company further, introduce unique designs and styles, innovate with fresh ideas, establish a strong presence in the market, and maintain the quality and reliability that our clients appreciate.
