Today we’d like to introduce you to Karsyn And Kiara
Hi Karsyn and Kiara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My best friend and I met in college, and we’ve been best friends for seven years. Both of us have always had funny personalities and a knack for storytelling. Karsyn went to film school and has a passion for production and editing, while Kiara has a background in comedy and social media management. After we graduated college, we came up with the idea to create a story time and girl talk podcast. Over the years, many people encouraged us to start a podcast, so when we finally took the plunge seven months ago, it was exciting. Since launching, we’ve loved building a community and are beginning to thrive on social media.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Since we’re only seven months in, we’re still in the early stages of our podcast journey. However, we’ve both been very consistent and hardworking because this is something we’re truly passionate about. We’re also very organized and detail-oriented, which helps us stay on top of episode releases and social media posts with a solid plan of action. Our initial challenge was financial, but we managed to make it work. Right now, our biggest challenge is reaching a wider audience and achieving virality across all social platforms, especially YouTube.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Karsyn and Kiara are the podcast co-hosts of Thought Sh*t, a show that focuses on comedy-filled storytimes, hot takes, girl talk, and the occasional book debrief. We’re known for keeping it real and reality-checking the girlies. Our podcast is also a go-to for helping people pass the time with our shenanigans and making them laugh. We are most proud of how far we’ve come with the show. What started as just an idea has grown into something consistent, and seeing that progress has been incredibly satisfying. It’s also really encouraging to see the show slowly grow and hear that people genuinely enjoy our content. What sets us apart is our real-life friendship and the amazing chemistry we share on-screen. We’re also very authentic, real, and relatable. Off-camera, we talk on the phone for hours and laugh until we cry, so creating a podcast together just felt like a natural next step for us.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Authenticity, consistency, and personality are the most important qualities behind our success. Without authenticity and relatability, people wouldn’t connect with our content as much. We’ve made sure to be consistent from day one, and this dedication has played a major role in helping us build on our success.
