Today we’d like to introduce you to Julia Young.
Hi Julia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for caregiving and staying active, which has shaped my journey into who I am today. Originally from the East Coast, nannying and fitness have been pivotal in my personal growth. Both have taught me so much about myself—building resilience, patience, and emotional connections. There’s something deeply fulfilling and mentally stimulating about being part of a child’s development and challenging myself physically through fitness. Some of my favorite ways to stay active include CrossFit, running trails, rollerblading, and hiking—activities that not only keep me grounded but also fuel my sense of adventure.
Recently, I’ve felt a huge shift toward content creation and promoting brands that truly align with my values. It’s exciting to step into a space where I can share my passions, connect with like-minded people, and build meaningful relationships through networking. This new chapter feels like the perfect blend of everything I love—nurturing, inspiring, and staying true to myself.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but I don’t think anything worthwhile ever is. I’ve always had a big heart, and over my 17 years of working with kids and staying active through fitness, I’ve learned countless life lessons. These experiences, combined with the unfortunate loss of family members and friends, have deeply shaped who I am. Grief has been a significant part of my journey, but it has also strengthened my spiritual sense of self and taught me the importance of staying present.
I find peace in knowing that the people I’ve lost are always with me in spirit, guiding and encouraging me. This connection keeps me grounded and motivates me to challenge myself daily. Through it all, my big heart and spiritual outlook have given me a sense of purpose and gratitude for the incredible friends and family in my life. These challenges have shaped my resilience and remind me to approach life with love, authenticity, and a deeper sense of connection.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My professional journey has been deeply rooted in caregiving and creativity. As the founder of “The Mindful Nanny,” I bring over 17 years of experience in childcare, specializing in outdoor adventures, nature play, and creating engaging, educational experiences for children. I pride myself on being a caregiver who not only fosters joy and growth but also prioritizes mindfulness and alignment with family values. I’ve learned that nannying is more than a job—it’s about building trust, supporting families, and creating meaningful memories for children.
In addition to my work as a nanny, I have a passion for content creation. Fitness is a huge part of my life, and I love sharing relatable and inspiring moments, whether it’s a workout routine, trail runs, or lighthearted, funny content that brings a smile to someone’s day. I aim to build connections through authenticity and create value for brands and communities that resonate with my lifestyle. Combining my love for caregiving, creativity, and fitness allows me to approach my work with passion and purpose.
What makes you happy?
What makes me truly happy is seeing genuine joy in other especially when I know I’ve played a part in bringing it to life. Ensuring that my family and friends are taken care of fills my heart with gratitude and purpose. I find immense fulfillment in building meaningful relationships with clients, knowing that my work positively impacts their lives. It’s the little things, too—like thoughtful notes of appreciation for my sweet husband—that remind me how beautiful life can be in its simplicity. Happiness, for me, is rooted in connection, care, and love—and, most recently, my sweet little cat Scotia. She’s grown on me 🙂
