Meet JoJoe Earley of Earleybird Productions in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to JoJoe Earley.

JoJoe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I got where I am today by the love support and prayers from my mother. If it wasn’t from her pushing me I wouldn’t be the man I am today and my Brother JB Armstrong teaching me what film is truly about

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Dealing with sickle cell has been my biggest challenge. Having it sometimes gets hard to be on set, produce and run company but even with it, I don’t let them stop me.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Earleybird Productions – what should we know?
At our core, we are black filmmakers and creators who are invested in truly capturing the essence of the human spirit in all of our projects. We thrive on building cinematic universes that are derived from everyday encounters and experiences while asking how can we push our content to live outside of the conventional box that black narratives have been troped with for centuries. Video content was something that unified me and my co-founder J.B. Armstrong years before we launched EB (EarleyBird). With a shared interest of gorilla-style filmmaking, coupled with Vine sensationalism that made short-form content a viable option for digital marketability, J.B. and I saw an opportunity to bring elegance, quality, and substance to a landscape that quickly became more about how much content you could put out rather than how good it was. Our mission is to revitalize original scripted content for an ever-changing medium.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My auntie !! Jocelyn Nixon has been the biggest mentor for me she the first person I go to when I need advice the first person I want to show my new projects too. And Rodney Clifton without him in my corner I would still be lost without purpose.
