Meet Joelle Brian of Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joelle Brian.

Hi Joelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
During the pandemic, I had to find a way to get through a really tough time. I decided to pursue my life long dream of becoming an artist. Although collaboration to create music was tricky, I was able to build a solid portfolio of music that has gotten over 100,000 streams and the music has been featured on Netflix.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not, as an independent artist you need to wear many hats. You are funding the full project, in charge of advertising and doing all those things in a way where no one can tell you are not a professional at all of the hats you wear, which often can be quite many,

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a singer/songwriter who specializes in pop and R&B. I am known for creating songs about my struggles with identity and love. I am proud that I am able to sing about things other than dancing at the club or glamorizing drug use. I am proud that I had my song featured on Netflix. And no one can be me, so I am in competition with myself.

How do you think about happiness?
The small things in life. I am so privileged to be alive, to be healthy, to have everything that I need and more. I love resting, eating playing volleyball , going to the movies. I love hanging out with my Stitch (my dog). I love watching podcast and resting.
