Meet Jevon ‘Jerzey’ Goldson of Lotus Creations Academy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jevon ‘Jerzey’ Goldson.

Born in Jamaica and raised in New Jersey, Jevon “Jerzey” Goldson came from a humble yet professional white-collar household but always found himself drawn to dancing, directing and creating. His passion for the performing arts coupled with his professional training in contemporary and hip-hop dance lead him to Long Island University at the age of 18, where he started to build his name in the dance and entertainment community as the first freshman to choreograph a play.

His innate ability to create and newfound dedication to share his talents with his community is the driving force that leads to him becoming a multi-faceted entrepreneur in the art world. His creative genius in front of and behind the camera allowed him to direct and choreograph numerous dance productions and video/photo shoots for his dance studio Lotus Creations Academy of Performing Arts; a jewel tucked in the heart of Brooklyn’s beloved Bedford Stuyvesant.

NYC based Jevon “Jerzey” Goldson is an award-nominated creative director & choreographer, Guinness World Record holder and founder of Lotus Creations Academy. In 2018 he won MTV Live propelling him instant notoriety as a national dancer & choreographer. His credits include MTV, VH1, HBO, Ciara, Lisa Lisa, Cassie and so much more. Today Jerzey is currently hosting a very popular Instagram live show called Black Culture The Breakdown featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. The challenges are difficult in the beginning and only get more complex as you grow. Growth comes with overcoming obstacles and learning your business. Inside and out.

BLACK CULTURE THE BREAKDOWN is an Instagram Live Show with infectious vibes breaking down music, movies, politics and CULTURE. The show airs every Sunday at 10:30pm EST on @TheOnlyJerzey Instagram. “LETS PUSH THE CULTURE FORWARD”

LOTUS CREATIONS ACADEMY strives to encourage the performing arts as a form of expression, communication, and growth. It is our express goal to create an atmosphere where students can feel free to learn and embrace the industry as aspiring professionals and to gain a lasting appreciation for the performing arts.

By learning and growing with working professionals, our students will experience the joy and camaraderie of creating works of art together. We aim to inspire the next generation of artists to learn, dance, conquer, and repeat.
