Meet Jeremaine Luber of Toronto, ON

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremaine Luber

Jeremaine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Jeremaine Luber and I am a multi-faceted artist currently living in Toronto, Canada. My artistry revolves around movement, creative direction and story-telling within the wellness space. Coming from a background of fashion, graphic design and dance; It’s been a bit of journey to get to this point, especially now that I’ve entered my early 30s. I am now starting to cultivate what truly resonates with me and incorporate it into my work.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think I speak for most that when it comes to the biggest obstacle, it usually starts with the limiting beliefs we put on ourselves. I, myself struggle with overthinking and perfectionism – I sometimes care too much about my work that it can sometimes hinder my process to play or even release it. Recently, I started navigating this through writing – journaling in fact, It’s really helped me organize my thoughts and regulate the emotions I may be feeling in the moment.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I really enjoy story-telling through film, dance and writing. I love incorporating complex feelings with relatable ideas and turning them into something that’s beautiful visually. My Filipino heritage is a huge part of who I am and it informs a lot of my work; whether it’s with the people I work with or the story I want to tell. I think Filipinos have a lot to say, especially those who immigrated from a young age or who grew up in North America. I’d like to be one of those people who can advocate for those who want to tell their stories in meaningful ways. I’m still really proud of the first short film I made last year; Sol. It was a deeply personal one for me that allowed me to become more vulnerable to express my experience as a Filipina living by herself in the city.
