Today we’d like to introduce you to Janet Hall.
Hi Janet, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Janet Hall and I am the Founder & President of the Amazing organization known to the world as Sassie’s Sisterhood Social Club. The 51-year-old visionary was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles to a single mother that instilled in her a powerful work ethic.
After teaching school for ten years and receiving Who’s Who among America’s Top Teachers, she decided she needed a change. God gave me a vision to bring women together of all colors and give them a platform to be able to bond, share, shop, travel, service the community and just enjoy life in a drama-free setting. So, with that vision in mind and heart on August 1st, 2014, Sassie’s Sisterhood Social Club was born. Starting out it was clear that I was made for this. I was President in an organization in high school called Ebony Spirit with Pride so naturally, as all Leo’s know, I was born a leader.
This was a piece of cake. So, I thought. Society has a stigma on women that says we can’t work together which is something I made my main focus to fix. I will not allow that to be true about women. All women should be able to work together towards the same goals and it can be done an is being done in this organization.
In addition, before you join you must vow to be drama free. Drama is the key factor in why women can’t be productive. They allow other distractions to deter them from the big picture and veer off into other areas instead of keeping the task at hand. So, when we meet up, it’s all about my sister time. In this journey, people come and people go but the vision will always remain relevant. I’ve seen some great friendships evolve from this organization and with that alone we are successful. we have 7 Charter members including myself, Jevlynn Robinson, Antoinette Vicks, Nakeisha Freeman, LaKindra Woodard, Ya’Meaka Williams, and LaToya Turner that are still with and this year August 1st we will celebrate our 9 year Anniversary. Today we have Chapters in Dallas- Fort Worth Texas, Los Angeles, California, Las Vegas, Florida, Houston Texas and Belize, Central America. We have 65 active members to date and are growing.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has definitely not been smooth at all. Whew Chile most of the road wasn’t even paved … laughs 🙂 ….If the road is easy, you’re most likely going the wrong way. After the first few years, I had people that said they were Triple SC for life. Then I started to see those same people just leave when things didn’t go their way and I realized people can say whatever they want but their actions will show you what the real will be. I never gave up! This is a vision God gave me so there is no quitting. My Faith is limitless. We were able to build a stronger team and we won’t stop until we’re proud. The road is getting smoother as we go.
The COVID-19 pandemic did set us back as far as doing events because throughout that time no one could really do anything. Our social gatherings and community events were at a complete stop. But now that things are getting back to normal we are at full speed ahead and are getting out and about.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Secretary at the Medical Examiners office by day but most importantly I am a serial entrepreneur. I do it all. I am an Amazon Influencer, I run a boutique known as The Sassie Shop, I run a Notary business called J`-Hall Notary What sets me apart from others is my work ethic and dependability. I am known for being a self-proclaimed foodie and a die-hard networker. That truly sets me apart from others because in this day and age, people are so scared that the next business is going to do more than theirs. If you are passionate about what you do nobody should be able to do what you do like you. I share everyone’s business and refer people like crazy. There is enough money to be made for all of us and it costs nothing to expose someone’s business. The Golden Rule is legit. I truly treat people the way that I want to be treated. That doesn’t always pan out but I will always live by that rule of thumb.
My primary focus is on Sassie’s Sisterhood Social Club and being known worldwide.
