Meet James Chang of Rapid Mobile Repair in Redondo Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Chang.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have always worked in the realm of customer service. Whether it was tutoring in high school, a telemarketing job in college or the 17 years I’ve worked in the corporate world since graduating. Working with people and providing services have always been at the center of my universe.

I’ve also always been intrigued by technology and naturally found myself gravitating to become a technical expert in all of my prior endeavors. A few years ago, one of my close friends was looking for a career change and found his way into mobile device repairs.

Seeing his rapid growth and my ever-stagnant-corporate-world-job along with my desire to have more flexibility and actual time to enjoy the growth of my 3 young boys, I decided to try an entry-level course in electronic device repair.

Taking that first step essentially sparked a fire in me that I had not felt for well over a decade as I tried to claw my way up the narrow corporate ladder. Now, one year and several hundred repairs later, my phone almost never stops ringing and driven by my passion to make every customer a Raging Fan, I find myself able to work 20 hour days on end without blinking.

I’m taking it one step at a time here, but all I am seeing right now are very happy customers and a future where I believe I will be able to utilize all of my God-given talents and Everyday is a Blessing!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the sake of not writing a book, I will say this is my 3rd career change and God-willing, I am absolutely intent on making it my last.

At Rapid Mobile Repair, the goal is 100% restoration for any electronic device with a focus on cell phones, tablets, PC, and laptops. Meeting this quality standard with an emphasis on completing repairs as soon as possible has been one of the most important factors in our customer satisfaction.

In addition to this service commitment, we also embrace the bigger picture recognizing the true long-term value of every customer. Most repair shops today, and businesses for that matter, are intent on simply maximizing their own immediate profits for every transaction and giving special attention to those where the business benefits most.
