Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqui Lin
Hi Jacqui, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my career working in corporate, but I always had a passion for event planning, so I decided to pursue this on the side. At the age of 25, I got my first job as an event planner, helping organize special events that included networking events, charity fundraisers, after-parties, themed events, fashion shows, and concerts. At the age of 30, I transitioned to organizing corporate trips and sales incentive trips, which I realized I enjoyed even more because I absolutely love traveling.
Then came January 2020, right before the pandemic hit. I was helping organize my very first wellness retreat, which included all of my favorite things: traveling, fitness, wellness, exploring new places and cultures, adventures, and, most of all, meeting amazing people from all over the world. That’s when I knew this was what I wanted to do!
During COVID, it became obvious that everyone was struggling with their mental and physical wellness, and I wanted to make a positive impact on people’s lives. In 2022, I decided to launch my own business under Level Up Events Management as a retreat organizer. I specialize in organizing retreats focused on fitness and adventure, yoga and meditation, transformation, and women-only retreats.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building my own business from scratch has certainly not been easy. From establishing my brand on ever-changing social media platforms to promoting my services to coaches and facilitators, and marketing retreats directly to consumers, each step has posed its own challenges. I anticipated that it would take time and be a gradual process, so I constantly remind myself to trust the universe and stay on this fulfilling path. Every time I host a retreat and witness the positive impact I have on my guests, I’m reminded that all the struggles are worth it.

Level Up Events Management specializes in organizing retreats focused on fitness and adventure, yoga and meditation, transformation, and women-only retreats. We always partner with the best coaches and facilitators to lead our retreats—individuals with whom we have personally had experiences and know are amazing at what they do.
What makes us different is that we always create the most impactful itineraries to ensure we’re crafting unforgettable memories for our guests that will last a lifetime. We want them to leave feeling like they just had the best adventure, whatever that may be. Whether it’s a retreat focused on group workout sessions paired with fun excursions and exploring the local culture, or a retreat focused on self-discovery and stress relief through yoga, meditation, somatic release, and breathwork, we offer something for everyone.
We also keep our group sizes relatively small because we want our retreats to feel more intimate and to create a sense of family, so our groups range from 8 to 15 people at a time.
Our goal is to expand to different destinations year after year, ensuring that returning guests will always have a new adventure.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Make sure you have templates for everything that you do such as budget sheets, invoicing, marketing/social media, and reservations so you can reuse them for each new project and not have to create something new each time.
It will also make your life a whole lot easier by partnering with coaches and facilitators who already have a good network of followers/clients who you can promote your retreats to.
