Meet Evan Mack of Cereal Talk Entertainment in North Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Mack.

Evan Mack was born June 9, 1984, on an Air Force base in California. Even though his roots are firmly planted in his hometown of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, as a military child Evan was moved around quite a bit. After both his parents retired from active duty, they settled down in Maryland. Evan always had a passion for athletics, and with that passion, he pursued his dreams in Germany. By gaining experience playing basketball in a foreign country, Evan developed independence, a strong work ethic, and a broadened mindset. After his career was cut short due to injury, he was forced to end his career and return home to start the next chapter in his life. There he would get the urge to talk sports to feed his love and passion for the game. He then continued his education at Full Sail University, where he is expected to receive his degree in Sportscasting in November 2019. Even though Evan’s career was cut short, he hopes his passion for sports will propel him into wonderful new opportunities in the Sports Entertainment industry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has been really hard. I still struggle and grind everyday to reach my goals. I’m not a person who comes from means. I believe everything I get I must earn. Los Angeles is the center of the universe for entertainment. I feel like everywhere I turn, there is a 6 foot 5-inch brown-skinned person with my exact talent and ability! With that being said, I relish this notion. I truly appreciate each day, hardship, and achievement I experience. Each bill I pay, each low paying gig, each person who reaches the promised land before me, keeps me motivated and humble.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Cereal Talk Entertainment story. Tell us more about the business.
I started my first hosting and entertainment company. Even though it’s in its infantile stage, Cereal Talk Entertainment is something I am very proud of. I currently host red carpet events, interview local talent, and produce content for a sports podcast. I’m very fortunate to attend Full Sail University as well. This school is giving me the tools, know-how, and experience to be the best I can be.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t believe in luck. From my experience, luck doesn’t exist. Either that or luck doesn’t like me. However, I do believe in cream rising to the top. What I mean by that is, so many times in my life I have been overlooked, not picked, seen other opportunities given to people I feel are less qualified. I feel not getting these opportunities have prepared me for the moment when it does. I believe hard work, opportunity, and being prepared create all the “luck” you will ever need.
