Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Singleton.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Erika. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
At age 18 I developed a strong passion for working out and becoming fit, by the age of 19 I became a certified personal trainer. My passion for training continued to grow and develop, I became so focused on being fit and helping other’s become fit, from there I became a national competing Figure (bodybuilding), a competitor. I competed for over four years consistently developing my body and becoming the woman I always sought out to be. My clientele continued to grow from there allowing me to move to the fitness capital of the world… Los Angeles.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Moving across the country from Atlanta GA to Los Angeles CA was a big transition and took a lot of courage to do so. My transition has been exceptional but not without hard work and a lot of effort, long days and getting to know as many people as possible, I think networking with church friends has lead me to so many of my opportunities.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Erika’s FIT Crew – what should we know?
Personal trainers are a dime a dozen in this super healthy City, so I have designed my business around becoming fit and healthy for not only life but for staying strong mentally and physically to glorify God. We often forget that our bodies are our temple and should be kept clean and pure. We must treat our bodies kind and be mindful of what we put in them.
I am most proud of my company because not only am I helping those physically but I’m helping those spirituality as well. Fitness is not just about looking good, the mental battle is just as taxing being mentally strong is where it all begins. The Lord provides all our strength call to him and he shall provide your hearts desires, the Lord wants us to be fit for his kingdom
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I wouldn’t be who I am today without the support of my friends and family, they have encouraged me every step of the way. From my mom Julie driving me to different states where I would compete in shows, sleeping in hotels and dealing with the everyday pains of dieting and limiting my social life, she has been a true rock for this lifestyle.
My aunt Cindy has also been my biggest cheerleader and most of my clients have come to me by way of her. She has so much confidence in me and my business and she’s not afraid to tell the entire world.
