Today we’d like to introduce you to Erica Galia (Kmiec).
So, before we jump into specific questions about the practice, why don’t you give our readers a few quick bullet points about you and your story.
How much time do we have? Haha! I’ll try to simplify it as much as I can with this timeline:
January 2014 – Moved to California with my gem of a fiancé.
March 2014 – Accepted a full-time position at a college marketing agency.
June 2014 – Anxiety came rolling in by storm because of unhappiness & apprehension with my career…I was well on my way down a dark spiral.
August 2014 – Attended a doctor’s appointment for anxiety and refused western medicine treatment because of my beliefs & values.
September 2014 – Meditation practice and spiritual journey began.
October 2014-September 2015 – Conducted A LOT of internal soul searching because even though I was unhappy in my career, I had no idea what I wanted to do – I maintained an open-mind, interviewed with other companies, asked for guidance, prayed, continued to meditate & just tried to live my life one beat at a time.
October 2015 – Witnessed my first natal chart reading, which was a game changer & I attended my first New Moon Circle in Venice where I learned the magical powers of setting intentions surrounded by a circle of women.
November 2015-March 2016 – With much curiosity & intuition it became more clear on what I was looking for in my next position, I planted my “dream career” seeds where ever I could and watered them with all of my spiritual tools. I set intentions under every New Moon each month, had coffee dates with wellness leaders, asked mentors about their career paths, attended holistic events, read a bazillion self-improvement books, listened to inspirational podcasts, journaled, meditated, visualized and had pure abundant faith.
March 2016 – During a mighty solar eclipse, I was let go from my role at an advertising agency and was it ever a blessing in disguise. I wasn’t courageous enough to do it myself so the universe did it for me!
April 2016 – Accepting a full-time job at a crystal healing company supporting them with events, PR and brand partnerships.
June 2017 – Decided to take a leap, listened to my intuition and stepped out into the world as an entrepreneur, now supporting and advocating for rising, female-founded brands in the health and wellness space.
Of course there are so many other life details that occurred, but this is a great summary! 🙂
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, it has been a bumpy ride between layoffs, uncertainty, fear, little work, too much work, but I’m grateful that I’ve even been given a road to ride on. I truly believe that the world is our biggest teacher – there are lessons in everything if we look and with each lesson, we learn, grow and expand.
Erica Rachel K – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I like to say that Erica Rachel K is a conscious connection curator. For one, I support female-founded brands in the health and wellness space. I provide meaningful, aligned connections for my clients that help them elevate, grow, flourish and make larger positive, imprints on our motherly earth – whether it be through event assistance, influential outreach, sponsorship security or brand bonding.
Two, I provide meditation offerings for individuals who have taken a detour in life as a result of stress, overwhelm, fear and want to reconnect with their true essence. I help create strong grounds for my clients to continue on their journey on their own.
I am most proud of my niche of advocating for female-founded brands – I take the “women supporting women” phrase quite literally and do my absolute best to do so. I also believe that both of my services go hand in hand. For example, through the practice of meditation with our eyes close, the hours we experience with our eyes open, we recognize we have more choices and see our thoughts and ideas about the world as endless opportunities for us and for our career.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment in my career was the moment I chose to step out and own my entrepreneurship instead of playing it down.
