Today we’d like to introduce you to Elena Vazquez, RN.
Hi Elena, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I originally went to nursing school because I genuinely wanted to help people and be a source of comfort during vulnerable moments in their lives. Early on, I thought my path would be in labor and delivery because I’ve always been drawn to supporting women through major life experiences. I completed my nursing preceptorship in labor and delivery and fully expected to begin my career in that specialty before eventually transitioning into aesthetics later on. However, after graduating, I immediately felt pulled toward the world of aesthetic medicine. I realized aesthetics combined so many things I naturally loved including artistry, medicine, patient relationships, confidence-building, and education.
I ended up landing my very first nursing job in aesthetic medicine, which felt like a dream opportunity. Starting out, I came in on my days off to shadow experienced injectors, attended trainings on weekends, and spent countless hours studying so I could absorb as much information as possible. That passion for learning really built the foundation for where I am today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest challenge in the beginning was starting with zero patients. There were no shortcuts. I had to earn every patient through results, education, and trust over time. I really leaned into social media to build trust with potential patients by posting educational content that breaks down treatments in a simple, digestible way so people can actually understand what they are getting and why. I also share a bit of my personality online, which has helped patients feel more connected and comfortable before even coming in.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is really about subtle, intentional enhancements that allow you to still look like yourself, just more refined and confident. I specialize in neuromodulators, facial balancing, and biostimulatory treatments with a strong focus on natural, undetectable results. My philosophy has always been to enhance beauty in a way that looks effortless, while making sure every patient feels educated, comfortable, and confident throughout the process. I’m very big on education and honesty. I take my time explaining everything clearly and I will always guide you toward what is actually right for you, even if that means doing less or saying “no” to a treatment altogether. What I am most proud of is how I show up with my patients, I really treat everyone like I would a family member and I’m very straightforward in the sense that I’ll tell you exactly what I would do if you were my sister or close friend.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that technical skill and communication matter equally in this field. Strong clinical ability is important, but taking the time to truly understand each patient, set clear expectations, and educate them properly is what leads to the best outcomes and long-term trust. I’ve learned that every patient requires a tailored approach because no two people are the same when it comes to their goals, lifestyle, or what will suit them best. That means adjusting treatment plans and recommendations based on factors like age, skin type, budget, and comfort level. The more intentional I’ve become with communication, the more confident and aligned my patients feel throughout the process and with their results.
