Today we’d like to introduce you to Easweh Harrison.
EaSWay (Easweh Harrison) (born April 12, 1995) is an American musician, songwriter, painter, and designer. Born in San Francisco, California, EaSWay began making music under the influence of his older brother at the age of 12. Throughout the next six years, EaSWay released five mixtapes which all garnered him local and international recognition; continuing to grow as an artist and a human being.
At 18 years old, EaSWay moved to Los Angeles, California, in order to continue developing his musical career; all the while pursuing a degree from the University of Southern California. While in Los Angeles, EaSWay began painting and creating digital designs, making pieces on commission for businesses and personal clients. With all of his pieces, musical or of the arts, EaSWay attempts to spark constructive dialogue about things that go on in the world that may not be discussed in such public spaces.
EaSWay continues to create music and art that influences his audience to think, question and create within the world around them. EaSWay understands that the only thing more important than the art he creates is the impact it makes.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say my journey has been smooth. It has been a winding road with peaks and valleys but throughout it all, my vision helped me continue.
My journey has been an extremely busy one. I graduated USC in 2017 and Trying to graduate college and pursuing an entertainment career is difficult.
Also, personal struggles with self-doubt and a lack of support systems made my journey a trying one at times.
Please tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
I am an artist. I produce, record and perform musical works. I also paint (digitally and physically) and do graphic design.
What sets me apart from others is my independent mindset. I see the world in a very different way because I’ve been blessed enough to have a unique upbringing. I look at music as a tool for widespread change. I believe music is not only about the person making it but the audience engaging with it.
As an artist, my goal is for my audience to come away with something of value when they listen to my work. I have no desire to brag to my fans about how much I have. I hate that artist’s brag to people or fans with less than them and still expect them to feel the same connection.
I have a goal to change the world with my music. I use my art to push things in what I see as a positive direction, not only for me but for the people living on this world together.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I like Los Angeles because of the constant ongoing creative energy and activity.
The distance that has to be covered to get from one place to another is a bit absurd though. Especially when you’re commuting with what seems like a million other people.
