Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jennifer Keagle
Hi Dr. Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I graduated medical school in 1996 and followed it with extensive training at UCSF and UCLA. I am so proud to now have a thriving practice in Northeast LA.
When I first moved to Los Angeles, I was in DTLA doing a combination of private practice Aesthetic Surgery, Cleft lip and Palate surgery at White Memorial Hospital Cleft Palate Program and Trauma reconstruction at California Hospital. Over the years, downtown and my practice evolved. I opened NELA Aesthetics and Plastic Surgery two years ago in the Verdugo Plaza in Glassell Park. I love being so deeply integrated in the community and being close to home. This gives me the chance to work with friends and neighbors and adds a special touch to my practice as a “local girl”.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles. But, I think you can learn and grow from them.
.
Being a doctor, you aren’t taught how to be a business owner. Being a business owner is what is hardest for me. Practicing medicine is the fun part!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a board-certified Plastic Surgeon and the only one in Northeast LA! I’ve feel as though I’ve built an amazing, patient-centered practice that truly focuses on making people feel comfortable and heard, while delivering natural not overdone results; which is so important in a field like plastic surgery!
Luckily, I am able to combine my professional expertise and my understanding as a working mom in the same community that I live and work in (NELA) which also gives me a unique connection with my patients.
I have a diverse skill set, from aesthetic to reconstructive surgery, and also offer a wide range of non-surgical services, with a comprehensive, personalized approach to patient care.
I perform aesthetic surgery including liposuction, breast surgery (implants, reduction, reconstructive, etc), facial and eyelid surgery and tummy tucks. I also perform reconstructive procedures such as cleft lip and palate, breast cancer and skin cancer surgeries. All consultations are seen in my Glassell Park office, but surgeries are performed at Good Samaritan Hospital Surgicenter.
We also offer non-surgical services such as botox, daxxify, fillers (Juvederm, RHA, etc), coolsculpting and peels. We are a unique practice as I’m the one personally performing your injections/ peels.
“Brand wise” I am most proud of what patients say about me and my practice. They really like my down-to-earth manner, warmth of my office and staff and the comfort they feel with me. I offer the pros and cons of all surgeries/procedures and will give my honest opinion. A lot of patients think that as a female surgeon, it is “breath of fresh air”. What they most love is the natural results they receive here.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always open to collaborating with local businesses! We’ve had pop-ups here in the office, receptions for local estheticians, etc. I like to think outside the box. No good idea will be turned down!
