Dr. Buckins, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always believed a smile is more than teeth. It is confidence, presence, and the way you carry yourself in the world. Dentistry became my path because I wanted to merge my own experience with crooked teeth with artistry and the ability to help people feel more confident in how they show up in life.

After years working in traditional practices, I realized I wanted to create something different. I wanted an experience that felt intentional, elevated, and rooted in the transformational power of dentistry. That vision became White Haus Dental & Aesthetics, my boutique dental studio in Marina del Rey.

White Haus was built to feel nothing like a typical dental office. It is a modern, design-driven space where every detail—from the architecture to the scent in the air—creates calm and intentionality. I worked closely with an incredible design team, Designwise, to bring my vision to life. Together we combined sophistication with warmth and ensured every space felt like an extension of the brand.

Building this practice has not been easy. Between construction delays, permitting issues, and learning to navigate the business side of dentistry, there were moments it would have been easier to quit. I am no stranger to challenges, and those experiences motivated me to push even harder. They reminded me of the power of resilience and why I started in the first place. My desire is to redefine dentistry as both an art and a wellness experience.

Today, I am proud to finally open the doors of White Haus Dental & Aesthetics. Beyond creating beautiful smiles, I hope to inspire others, especially women and people of color, to trust their vision, lead with purpose, and know that confidence truly is beautiful.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. Building White Haus Dental & Aesthetics from the ground up came with more challenges than I could have imagined. From construction delays and unexpected costs to navigating city permits and contractor issues, every stage tested my patience and perseverance.

There were days when progress felt impossible and I questioned whether the vision I had in my head could ever become reality. I was also learning how to manage a full-scale buildout while balancing finances, design decisions, and the emotional toll that comes with entrepreneurship.

As a Black woman creating a modern, design-driven practice in Los Angeles, I was often navigating spaces where I did not see many people who looked like me. There were moments when I felt unseen or underestimated, but those experiences fueled my determination. I wanted to build something that reflected both excellence and representation. A space that feels intentional, restorative, and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door.

What kept me grounded was my faith in God and my belief that He would carry me through each challenge. Every time something felt heavy, I reminded myself that God placed this vision on my heart for a reason. That faith, along with the purpose behind the project, helped me stay focused on the bigger picture. It reminded me that every setback was shaping the version of me who could handle the success I was praying for.

Those challenges taught me resilience, leadership, and how to trust my instincts even when the path was unclear. Today, I look back on those obstacles as part of the foundation of White Haus. They gave me grit, clarity, and a deep appreciation for what it truly means to build something meaningful.

White Haus Dental & Aesthetics is a modern dental studio in Marina del Rey that focuses on creating radiant, confident smiles through artistry, wellness, and design. Our goal is to make every visit feel calm, intentional, and centered around the individual.

We specialize in veneers, whitening, clear aligners, and smile design with a focus on facial harmony. We also provide comprehensive general dentistry. Every treatment is customized to enhance each patient’s natural features while maintaining balance and authenticity.

What sets us apart is our approach. We blend clinical excellence with a thoughtful, design-driven environment that feels restorative rather than clinical. From the architecture to the scent in the air, every detail was chosen to help patients feel at ease and truly seen.

I wanted to create a space where dentistry feels human again. A place where people are cared for not only through advanced treatment, but through how they are welcomed, listened to, and understood.

I am most proud that White Haus reflects more than a business. It represents purpose, beauty, and belonging. It reminds patients that confidence is not superficial; it is something built from within, one smile at a time.

I am deeply grateful for the journey that brought me here and for everyone who supported me along the way. Building White Haus Dental & Aesthetics has been both humbling and transformative, and I see it as a reflection of faith, perseverance, and purpose.
