Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Infared.

Hi DJ, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
◊ Musically influenced by the innovative sounds of Michael Jackson, Prince and James Brown, at the early age of 5 Infa-Red fell in love with many genres of music, particularly Hip Hop. Originally from Brockton, Massachusetts, Infa-Red learned to Dj at the age of 14 in Brooklyn, New York, where he spent his summers with family. Not necessarily wanting to breakdance or rap, his affection for Hip Hop and listening to the genius of Jam Master Jay, DJ Scratch, and Kid Capri was his driving force to learn. After he heard the likes of radio DJ pioneers such as Red Alert and Funk Flex and Dj Enuff on the radio, he knew he wanted to dedicate 110% into the art of DJ’ing as his career.

◊ Infa-Red made the move to Orlando, Florida in 2001 and began playing small parties in 2003. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always challenges in everything you do in life and Djing isn’t free from those challenges. But when you’re doing something you’re meant to be doing it comes easier to you.

I can give some of the main challenges a lot of Djs face starting out.

The belief in yourself when no one else does. Dealing with Dj life and personal life. Finding like minded people to help in your journey. Your drive sometimes isn’t understood by people and may push them away. This is often because they don’t understand why you are so focused on your mission. They don’t see the vision, but also it isn’t their vision to see. Just finding the strength to never give up!

Some of the newer challenges in the present day is amount of music, but lack of CULTURE. There are so many songs being put out everyday and going viral. These songs have a moment, but this moment only lasts for a couple weeks at the most. There isn’t any culture behind for people to grab on to and love it. They know it like for a few days and then on to the next.

As a Dj we need to cater to vast amounts of people with different tastes, different backgrounds, different exposure. So we have to play songs that will blanket crowds and not alienate them, it’s very hard when you have a lot of the new music not sticking. So right now I see the biggest reactions from older songs, that evoke some sort of Emotion out of people. The older songs tap into the culture and a point of time and they connect to it. We definitely have to tap back into the culture and build from there.

I’ve also, dealt with health issues that put me down for a bit, but I work through it and keep going! God has a plan for you.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Dj / Producer

I’m the official Dj for the LAFC, The LA Rams also The Big3. I’m a DJ / Radio personality on Shade45 on Sirius XM. I’m also a Dj Instructor at 1500 Sound Academy.

I Dj in clubs and a lot of corporate and private event thought out Los Angeles.

I specialize in open format. I play a lot of different genres of music. I’m known for bringing an unmatched energy to any event I come to perform.

Some of my proudest moments were, Being 50 Cent’s Effen Dj, Djing with Nas, Being the Official Dj for LAFC, Orlando City & The RAMS.
Being on radio Power 95.3 in Orlando for the first time. Going on tour with Ice Cube & The Big3 around the country. Djing at Dodger Stadium, Djing at The Rose Bowl. Being on TV & Movies as myself. Being able to interview countless Legends and current rappers on Radio. Jadakiss, Fabolous, LL Cool J, Akon the list goes on.

I’m most proud to be able to still be here sharing my talents with the world!!

What sets me apart from others are couple of things. My hard work and dedication. I’ve put well over 1,000,000 hours of practice and I’ve done well over 2,000 events in my career. Also, my music knowledge and the way I approach an event. I don’t just come in a play music. I perform! I feel the crowd and go with their energy. Also, the way I bring in the music I find clever places to bring in the songs so it changes the way people receive the music. If they go left then I got left, if they go right then I go right. Then I have them and bring them on a musical journey.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The characteristic for my success is determination! Never giving up and not taking NO for an answer. No just means “Not right now.”

And self belief. If you know your worth. Your real worth not a made up fantasy in your head. Then everyone else will too. The best will always rise to the top.

GOD FIRST!!
