Meet DJ Flipcyide

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Flipcyide.

DJ, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started DJing in 1992 with some Technic’s that were not even Tech 1200’s, I knew I had always wanted to be a DJ since I saw the DJ in the movie Breakin’ as a kid. So when I got my first set of turntables and mixer my journey began and then the rest became history! It took a long time to get to where I am at now and even with one time of almost giving up, I’m glad I didn’t cause I finally reached the level that I always dreamed to become in music!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth there were times when I was reaching out to so many famous artists or just trying to pursue my dreams day and night and nothing was happening, and it was a huge financial drain being a DJ at times. I almost quit at one time but then a big opportunity came to me and made me want to keep pushing on!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have been a DJ for over 20 years now. I specialize in doing Hip Hop mixtapes. I have done many mixtapes throughout the years, in fact too many to even count anymore. Some were with very famous people. Some of the ones I am most proud of are the mixtapes I did for Hell Razah aka Heaven Razah from Sunz Of Man, also one with Junior Reid, my mixtape hosted by Sunz Of Man, and all my Wu-Files and Wu-Tang Rockz Mixtapes but all in all I love all of them I have ever done!

How do you define success?
I define success by being happy with what you have done with your life! If your not happy with how your life has been or that you feel that you haven’t done anything with it, then “Change It”! Do something that makes you happy that you want to be doing and that makes you feel successful!
