Today we’d like to introduce you to Denzel Crisp.
Denzel, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Nowadays, someone can simply pick up a phone and get views just for simply looking at a camera and standing there. I was never born a hot shot nor with the nicest things, so I always thought I had to prove myself to the kids in school if that meant I had to throw pencils around class to make someone laugh or lay the largest fart out for the entire class to crack up and get me suspended so be it…I got the attention right? Or so I thought; My mama always told me “appreciate what’s right in front of you and quit worrying about what other people have!” I never knew exactly what that meant as a kid cause I had to be cool, I had to have that Nintendo DS or PSP that just came out because everyone but me had it. I started becoming a misfit from Elementary to High School and never knew who I was, I got my first cellphone in High School, discovered a camera and made that guy my best friend! I would practice facials, remake “Crazy in Love” (because I was the real Queen B) with sweats on my head to emphasize her hair, dress up as my favorite TV shows’ and just thought no one could stop Denzel. Till this day, I hear my mom tell me not to worry about anyone, press record and go about my business and because of that, I became someone people watch on TikTok when they need a boost or a simple smile to start their day.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ve learned a lot of people don’t understand the Social Media career especially SOME of my family {which is totally fine] but it does make me want to fight even harder to show them that all it is, is hard work, dedication and motivation. I do have a lot of my friends that I am grateful and blessed with that keep my head up but who wouldn’t want more support from their family. I’m definitely a person who loves advice more than In-N Out because life is just a rollercoaster with so many amusement parks and I never know which one to “turn up” in so I just tell myself, if you want something bad you will fight for it and if something gets in the way– there is a solution for everything and a reason why it happened, sometimes you just got to flip a whole chapter ahead and if there is a “Part Two” to the story at least you know what’s coming next to fix the situation.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
Denzel Crisp is your next up and coming Public Figure, I “specialize” in giving you, ya grandma and your pet fish heartburns and diabetes from laughing until you can’t breathe anymore or until you drop your fresh Hot Pocket on the ground from also laughing too hard whichever sounds more amusing. I’m known as “Kesha” on TikTok, Kesha is the girl everyone can’t stand but yet got to have in the life because if they don’t, life is just not as entertaining or crazy without her — she teaches you all the good things you need to know on how to survive life or at least what she thinks is right and if you can’t get it right…she will mold you into how to do so. One thing I’m proud of as a creator is feeling free and not being judged on how ‘weird’ my content is, it makes my day reading emails and DMs saying that I’ve made someones day after having a long day at work or just living their everyday life, I never thought in a trillion years I would ever read messages like that and now that I do, its such a blessing. One thing that’s different about me as a creator is that I like to diversify my self in anyway I can to spread my laughter with others whether that be me learning how to dance salsa the incorrect way to trying to speak in Spanish, it’s cool, corny and fun!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was so shy, I got picked on a lot for being a heavy set kid, with a small voice, button down solid polos with lose denim jeans that touched the floor and distressed at the ankle from running around like a kid and can’t forget the cheap $10 Filas, so I never knew who to talk to and/or how to start a conversation. When I did get picked on, I was told to stop being so “soft” “it’s the way we play around here” and next thing you know, my bikes were being stolen, kids would come in my back patio to use me for my food. and wouldn’t show up unless they were hungry again. Rocks would be thrown at my apartment windows and I would get in so much trouble because those were my “friends” “that’s just how they play”. After switching schools all the way to High School I was definitely a “class clown” cracking jokes and dancing all up and down the School house was my thing, everyone loved them some Denzel I just loved making everyone smile and laugh, I never knew why people loved me so much but it was definitely because I was just being myself.
