Meet Dana Perri of SHIFT by Dana Perri in Sherman Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Perri.

Dana, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I can’t really remember a time in my life where being physical wasn’t part of how I identified myself. Age 5: Swimmer and gymnast. Age 20: College graduate. Today: Entrepreneur and one of the most sought after celebrity personal trainers. Dancer. Cirque du Soleil Artist. Aerialist. Choreographer. Athlete. Personal Trainer. Indoor Spin Instructor. Group Fitness Instructor. Life Coach. Nutritional Consultant. My positive energy is contagious and the individual attention I give to my clients and students is unparalleled. My sincere concern for others is magnetic and for over 15 years, I have helped over 100,000 people reach personal physical, mental, and emotional goals. I love to make the environment different with my unique expertise.

With my passion to motivate those around me to defy limitation and embrace strength I take you on a journey of self-exploration. Through my real and direct process, truth is forced to the surface. This sometimes uncomfortable and scary place is where growth begins. It’s all about igniting the mind first, having a clear intention, and starting the process.

Through ongoing education, I continue to delve further into my personal goals, creating individualized programs that bring strength and versatility to my client’s workout routines.

I inspire change.

I live by example.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Honestly it hasn’t been a smooth ride at all . . . but well worth it!

  1. Working for gym owners who didn’t have the same vision.
  2. Business partnerships ending.
  3. Looking for investors.
  4. Staying current and constantly creating new fitness classes.

SHIFT by Dana Perri – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Shaping How I Feel Today is the philosophy of SHIFT. An acronym that underscores our belief that everyone – and every day – is unique. When you walk through our doors, you’re choosing to make yourself a priority. At the beginning of each class, our incredible instructors focus our students on setting a mental intention and realistic goals to guide them through their workout. It’s our intention, and our goal, that you’ll leave transformed.

Our dynamic classes at SHIFT by Dana Perri are designed to create a lean and strong physique by combining cardio and strength training into high-energy, lower impact, full body workouts. Each class is tailored to honor your own body and individual strengths. LA’s first and only spring floor, circuit workout studio will test your limits, encourage optimum physical performance, and reward you by feeling stronger, healthier, and more centered when you leave.

SHIFT isn’t just a class; it’s a tool for greatness. At our core, we are a community that welcomes kindness, encouraging words and high-fives in a fun, safe and non-competitive environment. Our students look forward to starting or ending their day with some of the most respected and highly qualified trainers in Los Angeles. In short, the community of SHIFT is the spirit of SHIFT, and we are so grateful to have you be a part of it.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I define success as living my true purpose and having a positive impact on the lives of people around me by uplifting them, motivating them and inspiring them to think and behave in ways that they may not have considered before.

Achieving large goals takes patience, diligence and hard work over a long period of time, which I think successful people are willingly to devote. A sincere appreciation of the value of their own time and that of others also characterizes the dealings of someone who has the markers of a successful person. A truly successful person seldom needs to speak about their own admirable qualities because people naturally speak for them!
