Meet Britney Estrada of Such A Creation in Orange County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Britney Estrada.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I always knew I wanted to be a business owner it was in my blood. My dad, my godfather, and others in my family have their own businesses, I always respected them. I didn’t know what I wanted to do I tried starting with makeup, jewelry and nothing was it. A couple of years passed, I just gave up on having a business. I then became pregnant with my second child. I always stayed busy, when the thought of me going on maternity leave and not working I knew I had to keep myself busy. I was planning my baby shower, wanted to create some DIYs. I started researching, I found a machine, the Cricut to help me create custom cutouts for the DIYS. One thing led to another from me making stuff for the baby shower, then personalizing coffee cups, and posting them on my social network. That’s when Family & friends started contacting me where did I get that from ?? I would say I made it! That’s when I knew, my creations would be the beginning of my business, Such A Creation.

I was raised in Compton, a lot of people think nothing great comes from there . I know there is plenty of great in this city, this is part of the reason I started my business. I wanted to show that this Latina Girl raised Compton, I could be a womenpreneur.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not! I am a mother of two, girlfriend and work full time. At times, I am running on a couple of hours of sleep, juggling to interact with my family and running my business. I say the most challenging thing for me has been time management. There have been times when I just want to quit, cry and give up, then I remember all the awesome customers & milestones I have been given the opportunity to be apart of with my creations, I am thankful for that!

Please tell us about Such A Creation.
Such A Creation specializes in personalized gifts & custom party decor. From the smallest items, such as a cool birthday shirt to full party decor and planning. Our customer’s visions are turned into a unique one of a kind creation for your special day. We recently added a new service, which offers a personalized station to create your own custom garments such as baby bodysuits, shirts, bags and more. This provides your guest with an activity and a custom favor. I am very hard on myself, I know I still have a long way to go. I created, built and have done it all by myself, one-woman team ! I am beyond proud of myself, I am building this business with love, enjoyment and dedication. Such A Creation is dedicated to making your visions into amazing, memorable milestones to remember for a lifetime!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My favorite memory as a child was going to Barnes and Noble every weekend with my parents and siblings. We used to choose out magazines and books to read. I always found myself grabbing a how to craft book now that I think about it.
