Meet Craig Posey – Hilton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Posey – Hilton.

Hi Craig, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started producing events in college back in 2007. It started off as college parties and transitioned into dinners and private events. After college (University of Miami), I worked in marketing and production in the sports management world. After a couple of years doing that, I realized my passion was more in the music and entertainment space. I moved back to Los Angeles in 2013 and landed a gig as an event coordinator in the nonprofit sector working with The Harold & Carole Pump Foundation, Rags to Riches & planning Sheila Kuehls fundraising events. From there, I transitioned into the Freelance event world and produced events around Los Angeles. 2016 I started managing my first artist, Kenyon Dixon and in 2018, I Co-Founded my event production company, Ryan & Craig Entertainment, LLC

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has definitely been a process but I have learned a lot along the way. I would say the hardest part of the journey is securing capital. Everything I do is self-funded. However, I have a great tribe and have built a lot of strong relationships that help the process.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an artist manager (Kenyon Dixon), event producer & Co-Founder of RCE, LLC. I have worked with a variety of different brands and companies over my career. (SohoWorks, Revolt TV, Jameson, Rosaluna, Foot Locker LA, Martell, Beats by Dre to name a few) I specialize in all things event production: Concept creation, event design, staffing, talent booking, partnerships, etc…. Pretty much anything that you would need to create the perfect event for you.

I have few flagship events that my company (RCE) have produced of the years. To date, our Black Voices series would the one that I am proud of the most. We created that series to shine light and celebrate our Black Creatives in the entertainment industry. (Music, Fashions, Art, Dance, Film) The series is based on building community, providing resources and genuinely celebrating each other’s talents. We have had some of the today’s best talent in Los Angeles. Kenyon Dixon, Stevie Mackey, George Lovette, Amina Buddafly, Gwen Bunn, Candace Wakefield, Garren, Jake&Papa, Amber Riley) This past year during BET weekend, we were able to collaborate with Revolt TV SoundCheck by producing a live in person version of their series in partnership with Black Voices, Foot Locker LA and SohoWorks.

We plan on taking this series on the road to provide the same experience throughout the country and world. On the artist management side of things, I love seeing all of the hard work pay off. Working in the music industry on the independent side can be very challenging but during the past year, we have been able to make some great strides and now my artist (Kenyon Dixon) will be going on his biggest US tour to date opening for up Ledisi of her Wild Card tour this fall. This is just the beginning and I am excited for you all to see the journey.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My personality and how I am able to maintain, build and create relationships. I really believe that we all can be successful and I enjoy working with other people and helping them achieve their goals as well. It takes a village.
