Meet Colton Graves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colton Graves.

Colton, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in Folsom, CA. Parents work in the rodeo business training horses. I grew up loving country music and started making my own for fun. Ran into the right people and ended up getting signed with Extreme Music/ Sony ATV down here in LA. We just released my first EP “Smile For Me.” So far the single “Smile For Me” off of the EP has been charting on the radio overseas and getting good radio play here in the states. My music has also been used in shows such as American Idol and Garage Squad. It’s been a blast so far.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A few years back, my best friend Bryce passed away and it made me want to start really trying full throttle with music for the both of us. It hasn’t been smooth, I guess but I’m glad it wasn’t easy because I get to appreciate where I am today.

What else should our readers know?
I’m basically just kinda good at making country songs haha. I also know a lot about Lord of the Rings and I can eat a lot of candy.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Definitely going to Tahoe with my family. That place rules.
