Meet Claire Frias of Purpose Perspectives Productions in Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Frias.

Claire, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was born in a small town in Mexico Jalisco called Yahualica. At almost six years old, my dad moved my family to the United States for a better education and bigger opportunities. I come from a line of artists of all kinds who never had the chance to pursue their passions. Being so young during our move to another country, I became thrilled at the fact that maybe things would turn out different for me. As a child, I was raised to be “still” and “proper” in front of others, therefore my dramatic performances would only be for me in my room. Being afraid they would make it seem too unreachable and or silly, I slowly had become terrified at telling my parents I wanted to start acting. Until 13 years old, when I came across a small Performing Arts Studio near me called The Looking Glass Studio. I started acting classes there and chose theatre all four years of High School, working hard to get rid of the self-consciousness I had developed over the years of performing only for me. Graduation was around the corner and I auditioned to AMDA in Hollywood. By that summer, I moved to Los Angeles at age 17, and have lived here since. College was a wild ride, and one of the best ones yet. Thankful to God for everything he put in place just for me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Purpose Perspectives Productions came to be right after college graduation. I came to LA knowing that, somewhere along the way, I’d find a team to provide opportunities for others. My partner/co-founder, Asia Carlton, and I were thrilled and excited to begin working that we decided to start production on our own content right away. A low budgeted, dramedy series ‘Finally Facing Me’ came to life. As well as our first Spanish short film ‘Mucho En Poco Tiempo’ filmed on location at Tijuana. Mexico. Taking on almost every job on set between us two and handling calls from 3 to 35 actors at once created bumps on the road for filming. As proud as we were of our work, we realized we had to pause and find a full team to avoid stressful, on-set issues.

Please tell us about Purpose Perspectives Productions.
Purpose Perspectives Productions is a Faith-based, Non-Profit production company that provides a platform for people to share their testimonies. We believe there is an important story behind every name, and there are stories connected to others’ breakthroughs. We are proud that, together, we can provide different forms of art in which people can tell their stories and connect with others. Our production company includes: a music department, a film department, and a book department so that everyone has the freedom to choose the art form they want their testimony converted into.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If starting over would erase everything we have done from our memory, then I would choose to not start over. However, one thing I know my partner and I would take on differently is the pace in which we took off. Our excitement took control without taking into consideration the steps skipped. There is a special timing for everything in the journey of our company and I am excited to enjoy every moment at its time.
