Meet Chevell Hall

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chevell Hall.

Hi Chevell, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always enjoyed playing dress-up, even if I had nowhere to go. Every time I step out on the scene, someone is inquiring where I purchased my attire. Just looking at clothes gets me excited. Seeing women taking creative approaches to style has always intrigued me. I still wonder if they were able to attain that look without breaking the bank to achieve it. During the pandemic, October 2020 I decided to step out on faith and put the work in and launched Ladyvirago. A dream of mine came true of starting a business ensuring women feel amazing in styles they love and are comfortable in without breaking the bank.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all, there were constant bad days. From being unable to find a reliable photographer, vendors, website technical difficulties, shipping delays, finding the time between being an active duty Marine and then turning around to be a model for my own brand. Ensuring I have happy customers is very important to me so all these difficulties made me work even harder to get it all right.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a mom of a handsome six years old boy which is what I am most proud of. Graduate of National University with a Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. Proudly serving in the Marine Corps since 2009. I am very goal-oriented and I wake up everyday looking to crush another goal that I have laid out. What sets me apart from others is that I stand by my word which shows honesty, integrity, and dependability, all of which are intangible skills that can take anyone a long way in life.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Put yourself out there no matter the situation. There is something to be learned from anyone out there in the world. What has worked for me is just asking questions no matter how hard they are, someone will be willing to answer and also being open to trying new things no matter how uncomfortable they may be.
