Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelcye Perry.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
You know I have been asked the question before and I truly feel the things you are passionate about are already inside you.
I have been performing on statues since I was six. I didn’t know I wanted to truly be an actress until I was 13 or 14. At that age, I relative the power of bringing a charter to life to tell a story, the ability to evoke emotion whether its happiness, joy, laughter, or sadness. The performance brought that emotion, That’s Powerful.
I arrived in LA in 2012 after serving six years in the Navy. Never saw serving in the military as apart of my life journey but the things you least except can become truly beneficial.
My journey to the big screen has been filled with ups and down’s not to mention being a full-time mother to an awesome son who is now 10. But he has been my motivation to never give up on my dream. I’ve learned more from him than he knows.
I’ve done several plays in Los Angeles and just completed hosting on Fox Soul. I had never considered hosting but stand up comedy opened that door for me. Also, something I never saw my self doing just out of respect for the craft, but I m forever grateful that I got out of my own way and never looked back.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Has it been a smooth road? Literally laughing out loud as I read this question. NO. Would be the short answer and truth.
Yet everything I went through, I know it was for one or two reasons, I was hard-headed and needed to learn a lesson or I was being groomed for a bigger blessing.
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
So as we all knowing acting can be fickle and jobs are not always consistent.
So I asked myself after getting out of the Navy, What did I love other than acting? What could I do that would give me the flexibility to go PTA meetings and auditions? What could I bring to the table that would help people?
There was only one answer Fitness. And C-Fit was born.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Right now, I m working more on my stand up comedy and really telling my story in way that only I can do.
I m working on a short film that I’m super excited about because I will be working with my son. This is our second time working together which is always fun to get to share what I love with him.
I m not training as much due to COVID restrictions but I have always kept a few clients on my roasters honestly it helps me to help others. It just feels good.
