Meet CC Mason of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to CC Mason

Hi CC, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Though I had a brief career as a child actor, signed to CAA, my time in the entertainment industry really started a few years later when I began writing, singing, and producing my own music. I was recording my music at Conway Recording Studios in Hollywood with my amazing producer Peter Mokran. From there, I made my forays into acting and modelling, ending up on shows like ABC Family’s “Bunheads” and “Pretty Little Liars” as a body double/stunt double/featured character. It was around this time that I was diagnosed with cancer and made the shift into social media, as I was unable to keep up with the 14 hour days that television demanded but I still had the desire to maintain the career I was building. This turned out to be a huge silver lining to an otherwise horrible time, as my social media career took off! Now, 10 years later (and 10 years cancer free) I am a full time model, fashion and lifestyle journalist, content creator, and actor.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Overall, this is a very tumultuous industry to work in. The hardest part is that there is no guaranteed work or paycheck. Every success is based on your ability to get up and hustle every day to make your dreams a reality. I know a lot of people who have tried and switched careers, which is why I always tell everyone who asks the reality of the business – When you win, you win big, but it’s a very steep hill to climb!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m blessed enough to be able to do a LOT of different things, which is something I had to really fight for in the beginning of my career. I had many industry executives tell me I needed to pick one thing and drop the rest, which is why I’m so proud to be able to be a model, a fashion and lifestyle journalist, an actress, and a digital content creator. I love fashion, so being able to be involved in it from so many different aspects is incredibly fulfilling. Because of my social media profile, I’m invited to sit in the front rows of major fashion shows (I actually just came back from London Fashion Week!), and I turn around and take those experiences from fashion week and write about the upcoming trends for magazines. I’ve had occasions where the brands I write about then ask me to model for them, or wear their pieces to events, so it’s quite a beautiful full circle moment.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Probably that I’m a huge nerd. Before I developed my love of fashion, I used to build robots (yes, really!) I actually have a World Championship title in robotics and I’m in the NASA archives because of it. I haven’t been involved in that world in quite some time, as you can imagine, but I still love to unwind by playing video games like World of Warcraft, Fallout 4, or Pokemon,
