Today we’d like to introduce you to Carole Isenberg
Hi Carole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In 1965, I graduated from Queens College with a BA in Psychology. Teaching middle school in Harlem during the late sixties sparked a lifelong connection to my love of teaching. Since then, I’ve been a dedicated student in the world of personal growth—what I like to call a concierge of consciousness. My mission is to inspire and support women of all ages, across all borders, in a language they can easily understand. I aim to help them access and develop their most potent, realized selves.
My career in film and TV production was a natural outgrowth of my passion for storytelling as a dynamic and innovative way to deliver powerful messages. I quickly recognized the media’s transformative power to champion new ideas and inspire societal change. Throughout my work on projects like The Color Purple (1985, nominated for 11 Academy Awards), The Women of Brewster Place (1982, nominated for an Emmy as Best Miniseries), and This Is My Life (1992, the first film directed by Nora Ephron), I highlighted life challenges and transformations—key elements of the heroines’ journeys.
In 2007, recognizing the urgent need to raise awareness about heart health—the #1 health issue for women—I co-founded Events of the Heart, a nonprofit organization. Through emotionally compelling stories, we created a theatrical experience, a kind of “Angina Monologues,” which dramatized the reality of women’s heart health. The performance traveled across the country, igniting meaningful conversations and raising awareness.
Today, my focus has shifted to The Mother Lode Experience – The Empowered Roadmap. The first pillar of this work involves participants exploring the story of their relationship with their mother—their first powerful role model. Through this exploration, they uncover the depth of their inner strength and gain tools to create fulfilling, connected relationships. My commitment is to have an outcome where participants have the ability to express their personal power fully.
I deliver this transformative work through Virtual Events and one-on-one sessions.
I’ve been a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show twice and have been featured in publications like More Magazine, Prestige Magazine, and The Huffington Post.
Currently, I’m working on my book New Women, New World, inspired by the work of The Mother Lode Experience.
Lastly, I’m a proud grandmother of five amazing grandchildren who have taught me the profound power of play.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No such thing as a smooth road in life. It’s the struggles that make life meaningful, and you grow. It took years to develop the films I produced. In the beginning, a few people turned up for the workshops. After thirty -four years of marriage,I got a divorce. My partner and closest friend in creating The Mother Lode Experience was diagnosed with 4th stage ovarian cancer, and after a courageous eighteen-month fight, she died. I think of a line from Mary Oliver’s poem, “Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
The Mother Lode Experience Presents: The Empowered Roadmap
The Empowered Roadmap is a transformative experience designed for women (and sometimes men) who are ready to unlock their deepest, most authentic selves. This isn’t just a program—it’s a journey into your intuitive core, where you’ll challenge old patterns and beliefs that no longer serve you. Through journaling, yoga, guided visualization, meditation, qigong, and breathwork, you’ll awaken your true potential and gain the tools to make lasting change.
I bring decades of wisdom, honed through life’s ups and downs, along with a spirit that’s ageless and unstoppable. Life teaches us lessons that we can choose not to repeat, and that’s what we do here—transform past experiences into powerful wisdom.
I’m incredibly proud of the projects I’ve been involved in and the amazing people who work with me. But nothing compares to the joy I find in the family I’ve built and the deep connections I cultivate.
My approach is outcome-focused. If you choose to work with me for a year, you’ll have the opportunity to become the best version of your most vibrant, empowered self. Together, we’ll create a roadmap to get you there.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
This is a challenging time, especially for women. One of the important aspects of this work is that we create a community. In a world where loneliness is considered to be an epidemic, community is essential as an antidote.
