Meet Brandon Lance Garnsey of Content Creation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Lance Garnsey.

Hi Brandon Lance, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Besides my lovely family, I was always raised by the internet. Through Middle School, High School, and College my preferred choice of entertainment was always going on YouTube and catching up with favorite creators (Trisha Paytas, SMOSH, Shane Dawson, to name a few). That upbringing perfectly guided me towards a career. I attended Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts and graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Broadcast Journalism. Now, you may think ‘oh he went to film school he loves a good classic film!’ Honestly, quite the opposite. I was never the biggest fan of “cinema” and moreso was a big fan of all the new media rising on social media.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
For me, the pandemic with Covid was a JUMPSCARE. Graduating in 2020 and working so hard to get to that big payoff of a senior year was disappointing to have it completely turned remote. Senior sendoffs. Remote. Final goodbyes. Removed of the opportunity! Of course, we were fortunate enough to be able to eventually come out of our covid bubbles and have a made up graduation. But, after graduating, I moved to Los Angeles to start my career while the city felt like a ghost town.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started working in digital media with science STEM creator and CBS’ Big Brother alumni, Nick Uhas. In parallel, I began to work with TMZ Live and appeared as a consistent Entertainment Correspondent. Most recently, I served as a social media marketing producer with the MrBeast team. I even competed against 2,000 other competitors on the Amazon Prime Video show, Beast Games as (unlucky) player number 7. This variety pack of experience has been a massive formative part of my life!

After 4 years of working in the creator economy for other influencers, I finally began to create content for myself! I’ve always been passionate about pop culture, music, and trends- and my content reflects that! I am a voice to amplify “Stan Culture” and allow mutual fans to find a space to share excitement on pop culture. I talk about artists’ new albums, new singles, tours, appearances, and conspiracy theories on their future artistic plans. I am so thankful to have been able to work with record labels to promote some of my favorite artists through my short form videos.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Authenticity! Period. You need to feel what you are doing in every inch of your body and soul. Your audience, customers and even coworkers can see through any facades you put on so it’s essential to find at least some portion of your work authentically aligned with who you are.

It’s also extremely important to be open minded and adaptable (at the same time). Sometimes the road takes you down a different path then anticipated and it can be even better. Those that are able to quickly readjust to the new situation will be able to get truly ahead.

It is also impossible to mention success without talking about support. We are not in this alone! I think it is so vital to ground yourself in extremely good friendships, relationships and human connection. I have the best friends in my life that I will forever be thankful for,
