Meet Ashley Duran

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Duran.

Hi Ashley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was very shy when I was younger. I also was not that confident. I wanted to be a lot more comfortable and confident within myself. Modeling was just the perfect way to overcome it. At first, I did it as a hobby but fell in love with it. Today, modeling has helped me grown to the woman I am and is still teaching me. I’ve met so many amazing people. At this time, I am pursuing modeling a lot more and building my foundation around it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has been a roller coaster. As someone who had to grow up a lot faster than others, life for me has had many challenges. As much as I love modeling, it’s hard to support yourself while having to work and also do what you love. Losing a parent at 18, having to take in a family member, and also just staying strong has been rough. As there are many more challenges I have faced and currently facing, I don’t try to let them define me. I try to remain positive and inspire others. The hardest challenge I can say though is staying motivated. I am definitely grateful however if it doesn’t kill you, it only makes you stronger.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As someone who is a busy bee. I am always working. From being a bartender, server, model and aspiring entrepreneur. I always try to find ways to make some type of income. I like to be busy and work towards my goals. I am very good at adapting in any type of environment. If I had to think of what I am most proud of, I am proud of all the challenges I overcame. Just when I felt like giving up, I picked myself back up and tried harder. I am really proud of the woman I am becoming because I know this is just the beginning of my path to success. What sets me apart from others, I can say is I will never give up and I continue to fight for the life I want. It’s the drive and fire in me in which I can not explain, but I know if there is a will then there is a way. You can’t stop me hehe.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck as I am getting older and wiser. It’s the will and drive that will take you where you want to go. It’s also the focus and steps into action. Believing in myself has played the most important role. Having the confidence and not being afraid to take risks has helped me a lot in life and business. I noticed as well having the right type of people in my life.
