Have you ever looked at a person’s face waiting next to barbecue grill for their turn to try the meat that is sizzling on the grill?
Priceless!
Well I am that guy next to the grill that anticipates to see the satisfaction of that guest when they take their first bite.
For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for cooking. Over the years, I have built many grills and worked towards mastering my skills and learned everything I possibly could about grilling. My passion for barbecue has led me on many culinary adventures, and finally the development of my own business.
I don’t like calling it business because its pure pleasure even when I am sweating under the sun and burning with the fumes blowing from my grill.
Nothing is more satisfying to me than to hear from the background the compliments that the meat is getting without knowing who is responsible for it.
I smile and continue to cook as I am graced with words of comfort “Omg, this is divine, it’s just incredible, wow, this is unbelievable.”
Hearing the crowd roar for your food is an amazing accomplishment and the biggest motivator for me to keep creating new ways of serving and preparing my skewers.
To win the day, I have to have enticing food combined with memorable presentation and experience.
I am humbled by compliments and thrilled with my referrals.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Coming from an IT and Finance background, retail service was a foreign concept.
Now I had to charge my guests and make enough money to grow my business. I would have to say this was my struggle, feeding them and taking money for it was out of character.
So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the EconoSkewers story. Tell us more about the business.
We provide on-site grilling for events of all size and we specialize in Mediterranean cuisine.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say I am lucky enough to meet the right people at the right time under the right circumstances.
A chance meeting with a promoter at a friend’s dinner party, has led me to cater my first event to a large group of people and lunched EconoSkewers.
