Meet Ariana Drivdahl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ariana Drivdahl.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am a former engineer, mommy, and photographer! I have had a camera in my hands since I was a child and have taken photos for as long as I can remember! Though I love all things tech, once I became a mom there wasn’t room in my life for the corporate world, and I founded Ariana Drivdahl Photography. I love every minute of capturing the joy of families and kids and have never looked back! To me, there is a special magic that children have, and capturing that and turning it into a fairy tale image is such a privilege to do. I specialize in turning little girls into princesses, family portraits into joyful, laughing days and letting kids be kids!

Please tell us about your art.
I specialize in photographing the magic of children! I offer couture princess sessions for little girls, complete with puffy, luxurious gown and tiaras! I then create a magical, fairy tale image from those photos. My family photographs are always warm, soft, and dreamy! I make sure that family’s laugh, play and have fun together during my sessions! For my high school senior sessions, I find unique locations that allow my seniors personalities to shine! I hand edit all my images to produce a unique, glowing look to my photos.

Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
There are so many different styles of photography, I would encourage everyone starting out to really understand what type they want to specialize in, and practice! My style is more of a luxurious, fine art style, but there is light and airy, dark and moody, dramatic, etc. Each style requires a different way of shooting and understanding light, and processing of the images. Find what makes your heart sing!
