Meet Alina Vartany of Alina Fioré in La Crescenta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Vartany.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Alina. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been passionate about the work that is done in the wedding industry, and I remember as a young girl I used to help my mother who designed and made couture wedding gowns. After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA, I started making fresh floral arrangements using my skills in fashion design and fine art. I started very small and since I didn’t have any work area, and I wanted to make sure this is the path I want in invest in, I started working from our garage. The first year which was 2011 I booked just a few weddings and from the word of mouth, I booked 3 times as many in the second year. In the third year, I had much more brides who were interested in booking me, and it was becoming very difficult to manage everything from the garage. I rented a little office to meet my clients and show them samples, as the time went by and my style grew more popular, I decided to have my own studio in La Crescenta. This is our third year in our location and we are booked for events every weekend, as well as providing fresh floral arrangements for any occasion. I am a mother of three, I have a very busy life, but I enjoy every moment I work, I even love the sleepless nights when we have events back to back. This is my dream job and I am very blessed to have been able to pass the many obstacles that I faced with the support of my family. Being inspired and being creative is a major part of my life, and to me, it is the same as taking a breath.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy to travel this journey. The only secret I learned along the way is consistency, evaluation and not to give up. As a mother of three, there were times that I thought of giving up on my dream, but focusing on the big picture kept me going. There were times that I worked so hard that I would leave the house when my kids were asleep and would return late at night when they were asleep again. Trying to keep all my brides happy and do my best to get as close as possible to their dream wedding especially when they were on a budget was a challenge. Taking the next step in expanding my business was always a challenge. As a new business, making sure that every little step was calculated was a difficult task. But I learned along the way to not listen to your fears and disappointments. If there is no fear, and failure, there would not be any success.

Alina Fioré – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We are specialized in designing event set ups, centerpieces and the details of an event. We provide full service floral and offer rentals and event coordination. Our designs are different because we do a lot of research on the upcoming trends, colors and what is hot. Our customers love the natural and organic look we create for them. It’s like mixing fine arts and floral design. We try to personalize every design and for doing that we need to have a good communication with our customers, to figure out what exactly excites them and what are they passionate about and we try to translate that in the design we create for them. We also treat our customers as our family. I love the friendships we create after working on an event for a client.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Every time we send out the bridal bouquet to our brides, I wait impatiently to receive their text that they admire their bouquet, and that is what exactly they wanted. It means a lot to get a text from a bride on her wedding day, it means they can’t wait to express their feelings and take the time on that busy day to let us know!
