Meet Adeleh Yarmohammadi of Beverly Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adeleh Yarmohammadi.

Hi Adeleh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
“If you had told me years ago that I would one day become an oculoplastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, balancing surgery, motherhood, and educating millions online, I probably wouldn’t have believed you” Growing up, I always loved both science and art, even though I didn’t realize at the time that I would one day find a career that combined the two. My path to becoming an oculoplastic surgeon wasn’t always easy. I moved to the United States with a dream of pursuing medicine, knowing it would require years of sacrifice, hard work, and resilience. Looking back, every obstacle became part of the foundation that shaped who I am today.

During my training at UCLA and UC San Diego, I fell in love with ophthalmology because it is one of the few specialties where restoring vision and improving quality of life can happen almost instantly. But it was oculoplastic surgery that truly captured my heart. It perfectly blends function, aesthetics, and artistry. Every face is different, and I love the challenge of creating natural results that never look “done.” My goal has always been to help patients look refreshed and confident while preserving what makes them uniquely beautiful.

Today, I serve as the Director of Oculoplastic Surgery at Assil Gaur Eye Institute in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, where I specialize in eyelid surgery, facial rejuvenation, and cosmetic injectables. Building my practice has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It has also taught me that being a great surgeon is only part of the job. You have to earn trust, communicate openly, and genuinely care about every patient’s journey.

One thing many people don’t realize is how much I enjoy teaching. Whether it’s educating patients in the clinic or creating videos on social media, I love breaking down complex topics, correcting misconceptions, and giving people an honest look into the world of oculoplastic surgery. Social media has allowed me to connect with thousands of people who may have never otherwise learned about this specialty, and it’s become an extension of my mission to educate as much as I operate.

Outside of medicine, my greatest role is being a mom. Balancing surgery, entrepreneurship, content creation, and motherhood isn’t always easy, but it has taught me to be more intentional with my time and more present with my patients and family. Those experiences have also reinforced something I tell myself often: excellence isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up consistently, continuing to learn, and always striving to become better than you were yesterday.

When I reflect on my journey, I’m incredibly grateful. Every challenge, every mentor, every patient, and every opportunity has led me here. I still approach each day with the same curiosity and excitement that first inspired me to become a surgeon, and I feel incredibly fortunate that I get to combine science, precision, creativity, and compassion in the work I do every day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. Like most meaningful journeys, mine has been filled with challenges that ultimately shaped who I am today.

Moving to the United States and pursuing medicine meant adapting to a new culture while navigating one of the most demanding career paths imaginable. Medical training is humbling—it constantly pushes you outside your comfort zone and teaches you resilience, discipline, and perseverance. There were moments of self-doubt, long hours, missed family events, and sacrifices that many people never see.

Building a practice has been another learning experience. Becoming a skilled surgeon is only one piece of the puzzle. Learning how to build trust, grow a practice, educate patients, and navigate the business side of medicine requires a completely different set of skills. More recently, I’ve embraced social media as a way to educate and connect with patients, which has been incredibly rewarding but also comes with its own learning curve and vulnerability.

Perhaps my biggest challenge—and greatest privilege—has been balancing my career with motherhood. Being fully present for my patients while also wanting to be fully present for my children isn’t always easy, but it has given me perspective. It has reminded me that success isn’t about doing everything perfectly; it’s about staying true to your values, continuing to grow, and never losing sight of why you started.

Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge because each one has made me a better surgeon, a better leader, and a more compassionate physician.

“I often tell my patients that I’m not just an eyelid surgeon—I’m a facial artist. Surgery gives me the technical ability to operate safely, but artistry is what guides every decision I make. Every incision, every millimeter of tissue, and every contour is intentional because the goal isn’t to create a new face; it’s to preserve identity while restoring harmony.”
I specialize in oculoplastic surgery and facial aesthetics, with a particular focus on eyelid surgery, brow rejuvenation, and natural facial enhancement. The eyes are the focal point of the face—they communicate emotion, energy, and identity—and I believe even the smallest changes can have a profound impact when performed thoughtfully.

One of the things that sets me apart is that I approach every patient as both a surgeon and an artist. Technical excellence is essential, but surgery is not just about removing skin or placing sutures. It’s about understanding facial harmony, proportion, balance, and preserving what makes each person uniquely beautiful. My goal is never to change someone’s face or follow trends. Instead, I strive to create elegant, natural-looking results that allow patients to look like themselves—just more rested, refreshed, and confident.

I’m also passionate about education. Through social media, I enjoy demystifying oculoplastic surgery, correcting common misconceptions, and giving people an honest look at what goes into achieving beautiful, natural outcomes. I believe an informed patient is an empowered patient.

What I’m most proud of isn’t a particular procedure or accomplishment—it’s the trust my patients place in me. Choosing someone to operate around your eyes is an incredibly personal decision. Knowing that patients travel to see me, refer their family and friends, and allow me to be part of such an important moment in their lives is the greatest compliment I could receive.

At the end of the day, my mission is simple: to blend science, precision, and artistry to help patients look like the best version of themselves—not a different person.

Any big plans?
I’m excited about the next chapter of my career because I see it extending far beyond the operating room. While I’ll always be passionate about caring for patients, I also want to continue building a brand centered around education, innovation, and artistry in facial aesthetics.

One of my goals is to become a leading voice in oculoplastic surgery by making high-quality education accessible to both patients and fellow physicians. Through social media and digital platforms, I hope to continue demystifying cosmetic surgery, sharing surgical insights, and helping people make informed decisions about their care.

I’m also excited to continue growing my practice in Los Angeles while expanding the services I offer, particularly in advanced facial rejuvenation and regenerative aesthetics. As technology continues to evolve, I look forward to integrating new techniques that deliver natural, long-lasting results while maintaining the highest standards of safety.

Ultimately, my vision is to be recognized not only as a skilled surgeon, but as someone who elevated the conversation around facial aesthetics—showing that the best results come from blending science, precision, and artistry. If I can continue helping patients feel more confident while inspiring the next generation of surgeons to approach this field with both technical excellence and an artistic eye, I’ll consider that a meaningful legacy.
