Good morning Marc , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Yoga/meditate/coffee:)
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey Solo is a South Florida-born producer, composer, engineer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist with over 15 years of experience owning a studio in Hollywood, CA. Known for his genre-fluid approach, Hey Solo blends elements of electronic, soul, hip-hop, and indie music to create deeply emotional, groove-driven soundscapes. As a singer-songwriter and “friendgineer,” he’s equally comfortable behind the boards as he is on stage, connecting with audiences through his honest, authentic artistry. His work has been featured on the 7-time Emmy-nominated Apple TV show Shrinking and across various independent projects. Hey Solo’s music is about setting the vibe, telling real stories, and creating a space where both artist and listener can feel grounded and inspired.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
I believe failures and success are two sides of the same coin. Failures aren’t just setbacks — they’re lessons and stepping stones that shape your growth. Every failure has pushed me to rethink my approach, get clearer on my goals, and build resilience. Success feels meaningful only when it comes after those struggles because it shows you’ve earned it. The key is to stay open, learn fast, and keep moving forward without letting fear of failure stop you!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Nope!
We just keep evolving!
I never quit, just simply re-mapped my direction:)
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yah, I try to remain transparent:) musuc is an extension of my love for human experience!
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Self doubt!
It’s such a waist!
