Luke Judy & Savannah Judy of LA on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Luke Judy & Savannah Judy. Check out our conversation below.

Luke & Savannah , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical day for us means writing and practicing new music, pouring our energy into the songs we’re creating. We also spend time producing and editing content for our social media, and we love going live to connect with everyone in real time. Every day, our focus comes back to what we’re most passionate about—our music. We have new music coming out soon, our song mercy comes out September 18. Mercy is a song about the betrayal of trust, and the fiery passion that comes with the end of an era.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are Duplexity, an indie pop-rock sibling duo based in Los Angeles! What sets us apart is not just our sound, but the close bond we share as family. About three years ago, we started this band with a dream of performing together, and since then we’ve released a string of music—including our debut EP Billboards, which has earned over 2 million streams on Spotify.

We’ve been steadily releasing new tracks, and our latest single, Mercy, drops on September 19. Over the years, we’ve played at countless venues, with one of our biggest highlights being SXSW, where we had the incredible opportunity to open for Benson Boone.

This is just the beginning—we’ve got so much more on the way, and we can’t wait to share it all with the world.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The people who taught us the most about hard work are our parents. They always instilled in us the belief that dedication and persistence truly pay off. As business owners, they’ve shown us firsthand the passion and effort it takes to build something for yourself. That lesson has shaped how we approach our music—we pour that same determination and drive into everything we do to share Duplexity with the world.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
When we first started the band, playing shows was terrifying. Everything felt so new and overwhelming, and the nerves were always there no matter what. Having a background in the entertainment industry gave us a bit of an advantage, but it didn’t make the stage fright disappear. For Savannah, the nerves were especially tough, and it took time and experience to push through them.

Over the years, we’ve really honed our skills and learned so much about ourselves as performers and as people. We still get nervous sometimes before a show, but it’s different now—it’s easier, because we know we always have each other’s back.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
We’ve always believed in authenticity. As siblings, Luke and I naturally let our goofy, fun sides shine through in the band. Even though we might look cool and composed on stage, we love being ourselves in between songs, on social media, and when connecting with fans. Whenever we go live, or play live shows, people often comment on how down-to-earth and humble we are—and that means the world to us. For us, being yourself is the only way to live, and we try to bring that same honesty and authenticity into our music.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, we’d probably spend forever playing live shows. Performing is our absolute favorite part of being in the band, and the idea of doing it endlessly sounds like a dream. We’d also probably take, like, a hundred years to craft the perfect album—then do it all over again, again and again.
