Life & Work with Tara Rice of Los Angeles County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Rice.

Hi Tara , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
In 2000, I won Miss Teen California All American which was the start of my pageant journey. I competed in a variety of pageant systems for 7 years. Pageantry gave me voice and I learned how to advocate for important causes. As a teen state titleholder, I gained self confidence and improved my public speaking skills. Being a titleholder is an honor and I have learned great life lessons that have shaped me into the woman I am today. I attribute by success as a model and actress to the years spent developing my skills of personal growth and entrepreneurship. In 2013, I founded Miss West Coast Productions Inc. Since 2013 I have produced and Directed over 30 pageants through out the state of California. I’m currently the Miss West Coast and California United States Pageant Director. In January 2025, I won the Best State Pageant Director Award which was presented to me at the Annual Pageant Planet Best in Pageantry Awards Ceremony. Former contestants, titleholders and sponsors vote and leave reviews and than selected Pageantry Industry Professionals look at the votes and read reviews. I’m grateful and fulfilled by doing a job I truly love to do. My job is very rewarding!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest obstacle is obtaining sponsors who have the same vision as I do. Ultimately my goal is to work with businesses who support pageantry and the women who compete. It takes a village to have a successful pageant production. I greatly appreciate the dedication and support of all the sponsors who contribute to the Miss West Coast and California United States Pageant year after year.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Pageant Coaching and Consulting. I’ve been a Pageant Coach for 12 years. In 2024, I coached six of my state titleholders who won the prestigious United States Pageant titles. This was a big achievement as there’s 8 total age divisions in the national pageant and we won 6 out of the 8. In the other two age divisions I had two first runner ups. Girls and women from all through out America compete in the prestigious United States Pageant. I truly love helping each of my coaching clients to develop their platforms, highlight their strengths and improving their weaknesses. What sets me apart from other Pageant Directors and Coaches is my dedication and commitment to the girls and women that I work with as well as mentoring them outside of their pageantry goals.
