Life & Work with Tara Macri

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Macri.

Hi Tara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have always been a performer. Even as a kid, I would hog the spotlight and perform for my parents and anyone who would listen. I am thankful that I have a patient and loving family.

I am really fortunate that I have been able to pursue a career as an artist and perform on Broadway at the Hollywood Bowl and concert halls all over.

I recently just released a new song called “Excuses” and have a film coming out called “Outcry” that I am really excited about!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have been really lucky but of course, there have been obstacles. Prevailing over obstacles has always been a part of my music. The world seems to move faster and faster with so many things to chase after, so the challenge for me is to stay focused in your lane.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actor, singer, songwriter, performing artist. I’ve been really fortunate that I have been able to pursue an artistic career and have performed on Broadway, the Hollywood Bowl and concert halls all over. I have also got to be part of some really cool projects on the acting side. I was the voice of “Young Tigress” in “Kung Fu Panda-Secrets of the Scroll” (which is on Netflix if you want to check it out… hehe.)

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Oh wow yeah there are so many people who have been my mentors and have supported me along the way. From the beginning, my parents saw how badly I wanted to become a performing artist. When I was younger, they knew that it was something that I really wanted to do. They always tell me funny stories from when I was about 1 or 2 years old. I would apparently run around the dining room table dancing, singing and making up my own song. I have a feeling that I drove them crazy but my grandpa would not let anyone leave the table until I had finished my set!
