Life & Work with Serenity Grace Russell of Santa Clarita

Today we’d like to introduce you to Serenity Grace Russell.

Hi Serenity Grace, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been in the business since the age of 6. I have a cousin (Brandon Tyler Russell) who is an actor and I wanted to do what he does. I originally started with just a commercial agent, then added a manager and theatrical agent to my team. I have been a member of Screen Actors Guild since 2022.

I love acting and hope to continue doing it for a long time! My goal is to some day have my own television show or star on the big screen!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Acting is always a challenge. You have to have a thick skin. You will hear NO more than you will hear YES. There have been a few roles I was up for that were a HUGE let down when I didn’t get offered the role. However, my family has always told me that what is meant for me will never pass me by. So when the time is right, the right role will come along!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My bio is below:

Serenity is 11 years old and from California. She has been seen co-starring on Surface (Apple TV), Not Dead Yet (ABC), That Girl LayLay (Nickelodeon), as well as guest starring on Magnum PI (NBC), 9-1-1: Lonestar (FOX), and Electric Bloom (DISNEY). Serenity also has had supporting roles in the feature films: We’re All Gonna Die and 47 Days with Jesus (both available on DVD). Serenity has filmed over 25 commercials for: Blues Clues/Cox HomeLife, Baby Shark, Hilton, Paw Patrol, EBO, Litti Toys, Matchbox, Toy Story, Barbie, TCM (Turner Classic Movies), Walmart/Sharper Image, Perfect Snacks, Home Depot, Cadillac, Ross, Palmetto Solar, Tadiran, Dish Network, Progressive, Discover Card, Cheez It, Toyota, Zaxby’s, USAA, and Jack in the Box. Serenity has also been awarded TWO Young Entertainer Awards for Best Young Actress in a Commercial, as well as Best Guest Starring Young Actress in a Television Series.

Outside of acting, she is an equestrian, dancer, author, and pageant girl. She currently holds the title of INTERNATIONAL UNITED MISS JUNIOR PRETEEN 2025-26 and is a former LITTLE MISS UNITED STATES 2023-24 and a former MISS ELEMENTARY AMERICA 1ST GRADE 2021-22.

Serenity loves to give back to her community and has completed over 300 hours of service in the last 3 years through her platform: Serenity’s Service Squad.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Of course as an actor, you take risks every time you audition. Making bold choices and never knowing if it’s what they are looking for or not. I like to take risks outside of acting, too. I recently did the zip line at Gatorland in Orlando and it was so much fun! I also take risks by being an equestrian and riding horses. You have to be fearless and know that animals can sometimes have a mind of their own and get spooked.
