Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Alexander

Hi Sean, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey, I’m Sean Alexander Jelks. I am 24 years of age. Many know me as Sean Alexander, I came into the world September 9th 2000. I was born with drugs in my system due to the fact my biological parents were struggling addicts, when I was 3 days old my mother who I’ve been with since got a call from the adoption agency I’m from saying they have a baby boy for her specifically! My mother Mollie Jelks took me in & helped mold me into the man that I am today! She instilled so many valuable lessons & made sure I had a connection with God. As a child I was always the center of attention, whether we’re at home or out in public I always wanted to have eyes on me. My mom saw that & started to put me into acting & modeling. By the time I was about 5 years of age I was singing, dancing & acting! I started in the church singing & performing for special Sundays for children & youth showcases. From there I started to get into school plays & would steal the show everytime! Regardless of what role I had, big or small.. I owned my role & made sure to execute it to the best of my ability! I also began dancing at the Debbie Allen Dance academy around the age of 6 to gain more knowledge in hip hop dance. As I grew older I noticed my strength’s & weakness & decided I wanted to still utilize all the talents God has blessed me with but I knew I wanted to become a music artist & be known for my music around the world! So I went out for an audition that was for an organization called MusicFuel. They were having auditions for children who wanted to be singer, musicians, dancers.. etc. I auditioned & got a call the next day, they loved my voice & wanted to get me in the studio as soon as possible. I joined a music group & shortly after I decided to work on music with just me. Since then I’ve worked on multiple movie, commercial & music video sets to get my face out there & help gain a resume for the industry I’m actively working to be in. In my years of acting & doing background work I’ve worked with many household names! Such as Issa Rae, Tory Lanez, King Von, Grip & more. Those are just a few to highlight some of my favorite moments. I’ll always have a love for acting & being on set of movies & plays but I also knew that I wanted to be a music artist. I wanted to sing, i wanted to create my own music & perform so I decided to focus on mainly music once I became about 16. Since then I finished high school & made the choice to not pursue college & getting a degree to follow my dream of becoming a music artist known worldwide. In 2019 I released my first single “If You Let Me” as Sean Alexander, dropping my last name. Since then I’ve been trying to find a sound that works best for me. I’ve released more music after that as well as made my first viral accomplishment in my eyes thanks to Druski & the Coulda Been Records team! Since then I’ve just been trying to create an image for myself & more music to share with the world to learn more about me & where I’m from & how I got to be the person I am today.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road to get to where I am in life today! I came into this world a fighter! My biological partners were drug addicts & because of that I was born with crack cocaine in my system. My mother Mollie Jelks had to detoxify my body as a newborn to bring me back to full health! So with that being said, I like to look at my life & the things I’ve been through as a reminder that, God & my mother’s prayers have been what’s gotten me through my darkest days. There were many’s time I saw my mother struggle being a single mom trying to provide for me & my siblings & that helped me build character. Seeing my mom go through some very hard times with a smile on her face & trusting God has helped me so much with coming to terms of me being an adult now. I also acknowledge that as bad as it may have seemed for me, someone else’s situation is a lot worse than mine. Growing up I used to get bullied a lot because I wasn’t playing sports like the other boys at school, I wasn’t interested in the same things as boys in school. So they used to pick on me but I never let it get me down because my mom always would make sure that I was sure of who I was & that only God could judge me. I use what my mother showed us so freely as children on a day to day basis. Prayer & trusting that God will work it all out for the better! Over the years, I’ve been through many relationships & friendships that didn’t last but that’s all apart of God’s plan. I’ve trained my mind to take everything as a lesson & not to let it keep me stagnant but use it as motivation to keep going to get to the heights I know I was born to reach. I came into the world very different from the average human being so I know I was destined for a life greater than “Average”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a multi talented person. I am a singer, actor, model & an all around entertainer. I’m most known for me featuring in television, movies & music videos. Some of my greatest achievements would have to be working on the set of “Insecure” for Issa Rae, starring in my first music video for Atlanta artist Grip “SnubNose” project, being apart of a commercial for “Botox” that was shown all around the world! I also go to shoot a scene with Tory Lanez for his “Most High” music video before he got locked up. I also recently went viral earlier this year on YouTube, Tik Tok & instagram for auditioning for Druski’s Coulda Been Records! What I’m most proud of is me not giving up on a dream I’ve had since I was a child. I belive that’s something that can set me apart as well. When I walk in auditions & interviews I think they sense a vibe from me that I’m determined & hard working, ready to take whatever it is I’m trying to persuade to the next level. I think I have an infectious energy as well, people are drawn to me & my personality! I try to make sure I give out the energy I want to receive back & I think that helps me a lot with trying to get into the industry! I was told on the set of a show I did for BET that I have a glow about me when I walk in the room I light it up.

I’d like to share that, life is literally what you make it! Bet on you! Don’t let anyone or anything discourage you, keep God first & know that he had a plan for your life! In my 24 years of life I’ve learned that patience & trusting God will be all you can do sometimes & if you put in the work to get to where you want to be you’ll get there right on time! Things may happen in your life to wake you up & push you to go harder! Remember to always move with love & be intentional with everything that you do! Never change who you are to please others & know that you are enough!
