Today we’d like to introduce you to Miguel Ramirez
Hi Miguel, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After facing dark times right before and during the pandemic, I discovered a new love for myself, fashion, and the people around me. Then one night, a friend’s mom suggested I take a fashion class, which sparked a passion in me. There, I met my teacher, Liese Victoria, who believed in me from the start and encouraged me to pursue modeling so I did! 2023 began, I went to my first runway show casting in January, fell in love with the process, and focused on trying to grow as quick as possible because I felt like I was late to the game. I started surrounding myself with like-minded individuals, soaking up info like a sponge from people who were in places I wanted to be at, and eventually started helping others grow too which has created a strong community. Fast forward to today and I have many accolades that I’m proud of, my most notable being featured in Vogue!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My life has definitely had its fair share of bumps in the road. When it comes to modeling, though, the struggles I’ve faced have always been personal issues rather than with other people & organizations. From taking rejection personally, playing the comparison game, and failing to appreciate what I have because I’m so focused on what’s next would be my big 3. These are all things I’ve had to learn how to stop myself from doing over time and now I’m a lot better for it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As a creative director, model, and stylist it goes without saying that I love creating. Being able to fully transform into different characters and convey various moods/feelings is such a sweet escape from this world into one that exists somewhere between fantasy and reality. And that’s what sets me apart from others. I’m a passionate perfectionist determined to succeed while still being free-spirited to fully express myself and not be limited by anyone’s perception. Additionally, my resourcefulness, outside-the-box-thinking, and ability to forsee what will be “a hero or a zero” all help me put my best foot forward towards whatever project I’m working on.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
The best thing I like about LA is how there are potential opportunities around every corner you go as long as you know the right people and work for it because it really is popping. But at the same time, the thing I like least about the city is how unclean certain places are/can be.
