Today we’d like to introduce you to Lineu Andrade.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started playing guitar in Brazil where I toured with major artists for over a decade, and one day I got an invitation to join a band here in Los Angeles. I moved here and soon after the band split. So I started doing my thing, meeting people and trying to carve my path on American soil. I did some performances with a few artists which led me to meet the managers for Gloria Trevi, who invited me to join her band. I played alongside Gloria for five years until the pandemic hit. By then, I decided that I needed different endeavors. During the pandemic, I concentrated my efforts on recording productions and now in 2022, I still play local shows but I am mainly a Content And Artist coordinator for the parent company of Mono cases, Heritage guitars and Harmony guitars.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting gigs/work wasn’t too challenging that I could qualify as an underdog. The major struggle is the amount of money an immigrant spends on immigration visas, green card applications, etc. Sometimes people will call you for a gig overseas, but your paperwork is being processed and the immigration agency refuses to expedite your case, so you may have to turn down said gig. When that happens, in a place like Los Angeles, you missed the spot, and it goes to another qualified musician.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a multi-instrumentalist and producer. What sets me apart from other musicians is my ability to play and understand each instrument’s role in a song, where they can lift a song and make it pleasing and memorable for the audience/listener. I have a very inclusive personality, meaning that I want to set everybody working with me to success.
