Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Abad.
Hi Jordan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started in NYC 2016 – basically shooting and shadowing at a creative agency. Moved back to CA and started creating everything I could to stay busy and continue to grow as a creative. Faster forward to Shiekh Shoes 2020 as an Art Director, Puma Group 2024 as a Videographer/Editor and now to the present day at Boston Scally as an Art Director/Videographer.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Mostly smooth, but a lot of lessons learned for sure. Understanding your value is so important in this field. Never under sell yourself and don’t be scared to turn down projects to conserve energy if the vibes are off. Also I’d say one of the hardest things as a creative is to stay motivated once you hit a creative block. Sometimes taking a weekend trip to unwind is valid.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I love more of the video side of story telling. Recent ventures for my own visuals consist of connecting deeply with artists that are willing to talk about their story, similar to these articles really. Iv’e been on set with quite a few Puma athletes, Lamelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, Flau’jae Johnson, Lilly Reale, and Chris Brickley.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m a LA native and honestly I miss it everyday since I’m in Boston now. Culture, friends, beach life and can’t forget about the food! All my roots are on the west coast but completely happy with moving to New England for new opportunities.
