Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Chechik.
Hi jeremiah, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been making art for over 50 years in a variety of mediums. I supported my self in my 20’s working as an archival printer for rare book libraries and their collections of glass negatives. I practiced stone lithography and etching, experimenting with coating photo sensitive materials on metal and stone, eventually combining the new technological medium of laser holography. science, craft, technique and photography.
I continued with more traditional photography supporting myself with commercial work and directing commercials which evolved into a successful career in film and later television while continuing my art practice.
currently I work in glass, metal, paper, canvas and wood and apply tools both traditional and AI and have been experimenting with AI for 6 years ( access to beta versions early gave me a head start here).
I have exhibited widely around the world (China, Argentina, Canada, Italy, France) in both museums and galleries and continue to push forward with new work daily.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
the struggles have been from the world outside of my Art practice. I have been fortunate in that my attempted mastery (more or less) of technique enabled me to make money commercially (advertising, film and television) while keeping the creative energy active and applied even in those worlds where my personal expressions was sublimated to the “work for hire”.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

this link will open a rabbit hole for interested parties….
The nature of my work has tended to fuse modern digital techniques (AI, Digital Editing, and advanced processes) with traditional printing or painting ( Flemish traditional glazing, custom inks, handmade papers, silk)
I don’t depend exclusively on technology but tend to use a multiple of many applications and different software systems as enabling tools.
I use 4×5 cameras, medium format cameras and 35 mm film cameras as well as a variety of digital cameras and as I have mentioned digital tools of all varietals.
What matters most to you? Why?
making something today that did not exist yesterday in order to experience and share a moment of AWE.
